as you started to spend more time with mark, more and more of your things randomly popped up in his room. it ranges from the most mundane things ever to the most random items.
hair accessories, shirts and hoodies are fine but why is your hair dryer on his dresser? or your favorite lotion. it’s not like you’d spend a whole week over at his house.
you’d have a spare toothbrush and washcloth as well in his bathroom. some of your skincare would be there too along with a few jewelry pieces.
his mom even started to buy food for you. nothing major, just a few snacks or drinks she knows you like so you’d have them for whenever you’d spend the night.
he’s not complaining, why would he? he doesn’t hate the fact that you’ve basically moved into his bedroom or bathroom, he likes it; loves it even because it’s you and he loves you.

ꉂ ᵎᵎ synopsis: practicing sign language with your boyfriend in the library ^_^
ꉂ ᵎᵎ w/c: ~570 words
“we should… go to the park… later for a… p-i-c-n-i-c.”
your hands fumble as you try to sign the proposition to your boyfriend, stumbling over the motions and the grammar, even resorting to fingerspelling a word when you can’t remember the sign.
“******,” he replies simply, his palms brushing smoothly against each other.
your brows knit together in confusion at the unfamiliar sign. “what is that?”
he finger spells it out for you. “p-i-c-n-i-c.”
“oh.”
a soft chuckle leaves him at your realization, and he continues on with the practice session. “after, we should go to to the ****** to watch the ****** you wanted to watch.”
now, why would he do such a long sentence? was he purposely trying to frustrate you? you repeat the second unfamiliar sign back to him, wanting clarification. “what?”
“*****, *-*-v-i-e.”
you can only blink blankly as his fingers move just too fast for your comprehension. “...what? can you repeat that?”
“m…o…v…i…e.”
“ah,” you tsk verbally. your back meets the back of the library chair as you let out an exasperated sigh. “man, why is sign so hard?”
“it’s not hard,” katsuki responds with a small shrug, careful not to sound dismissive. he reaches over to pluck a bit of lint from your shoulder. “it just takes some time. you’re learning pretty well.”
“it makes me feel stupid,” you grumble.
he gives his teeth a suck, the sharp sound making his feelings about you putting yourself down clear before his words do. “your're not stupid. don't say shit like that.” when the pout still lingers on your lips, he decides to distract you, signing again. “do you want to head back to your place first to change before our date?”
you give him a nod, the idea of wearing something nice making you feel a little better. “the sign for dating is cute,” you murmur aloud, forming two lowercase d’s with your hands and tapping your fingertips together. “it's like the sign for kiss.”
“it's like the sign for meet and ‘d,” katsuki explains, rolling his eyes in fondness while adjusting the volume on his hearing aid to catch your quiet mumbling. “not kiss.”
“is it?” you ask, tilting your head confusedly. “it looks nothing like it.” making your hands into two peace signs, your hands meet again in a similar motion.
katsuki’s eyes narrow slightly at your sign of “meet.” “do you know what that means?” he asks in sign.
did you do the wrong sign? why did he react like that? you shake your head, signing back “what?” to him. “is it not 'meet?”
the laugh that bursts out of him only makes your face burn, and you can't help but feel even more stupid than before. “katsuki, what is it?” you ask using voice, glad the two of you were alone in a reserved study room, “can you stop laughing? is it bad?”
“it's not bad,” he says at last, mirth still curling his lips, “well, it depends on who you ask.”
“well, i'm asking you,” you huff, “can’t you just tell me? did i just accidentally cuss you out or something?”
"no no," he assures, pulling your seat closer to his, “it's actually something we should do after the movie.”
“what? what the hell does that mean?”
with another quiet chuckle, he lifts his hand and carefully fingerspells it for you, this time slow enough that you can catch every single letter.
Sitting on the couch, your feet were planted on the ground as you fought back tears. You hadn't looked at Katsuki all night. Not after he sat you down and decided to break up with you.
"This isn't working out between us anymore." He said, "You and I want two different things and—"
After that your mind went fuzzy, refusing to process any more of his words.
Lately, things had been rough between the two of you, especially after you had gotten out the hospital. Your modeling and pro hero career had suffered since you've been away for so long.
A break up was bound to happen. It was a matter of who initiated it.
The clock ticked as your gaze swept over to room, taking in everything: his gauntlets by the door, the pictures of the two of you that hung on the wall
"Is this why you've been distant? You've been contemplating whether or not you should leave me?" Your voice cracked.
"Y/N it's not like that." He started with a frown, "You know that."
"This what is it like?"
"You and I want different things in life. I just think that we're not growing with each other like we used to."
"Are you being serious?" You deadpanned. More tears threatened to fall as he opened his mouth to speak, "You know what, fine, we are done." You scoffed while standing up.
"Hey—" He started, reaching out to you but you fanned him off, brushing a few tears off your check.
"I'm going to my sister's house for the night." You didn't wait for a response before heading into the bedroom and packing a bag with a few things.
You stepped out the room and noticed that he was still sitting on the couch. His eyes refused to meet yours as his jaw stayed clenched.
