With project Hail Mary getting popular recently, I decided to re-read the book ( I bought it in 2024 and never finished, not quite sure why ) I wanted to share my opinions on the movie adaptation.

The movie was.. Something? It wasn't that bad, since the visuals and music were absolutely phenomenal, I can listen to it over and over and never get tired! But the dialogue and ESPECIALLY the missing scenes and characters really disappointed me.

Some small book spoilers under the cut? Also doing it to make the post smaller

Firstly, I found Grace in the movie quite.. Stupid? I'm sorry guys, I'm a Grace fan I'm just beating up myself right now-

In the book, he is a collected person, he literally doesn't sleep for days just to find out how do astrophage reproduce

In the movie, it felt like he found out.. Randomly? Sure, it was the same experiment, yet completely different

In the book, Grace explains everything evenly, answers all the questions being given.. In the movie he is just " Whoop there it is " And every scientist just starts to hate him, lol

About the scenes.. I am grieving the scene where Grace wakes up with Stratt's sticky note on his head, I found it quite funny... 👀

Now, the characters. OH MY GOD MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS ARE WIPED FROM EXISTENCE

Yes i am talking about Xi and Dimitri. My babies. Why.

To ones who read the book, do you remember the moment with Dimitri making a pun about the astrophage experiment being really bright? This was awesome. I love it. Best ship material ever, I'm a #1 Grace x Dimitri fan now.

Not just their absence bothers me, what is wrong with the planning of the flight to Tau Ceti? It's just Stratt, Grace and some random dude nobody invited 😭 They also never mentioned how they took regular space enjoyers researches to found out that every neighbor star is dimming

If you think that all of the extra scenes will make the movie too long, it is already not short, and I'm overall thinking that they wanted to sprint to Rocky right away, since the first part felt super rushed

Recently, I came back to playing phighting after a long break, I'll just say that playing as hyperlaser on open servers, while being just level 80 is not for the weak 💔

Soo, I had an urge to make an oc!! Meet Riot, short for Riot shield ^⁠_⁠^

Some stuff about him under the cut!!

- He is originally from Blackrock, but moved to crossroads

- Riot works with officer Bloxxer ( Mike? I'm not sure what his canon name is right now ) they are good friends

- Riot doesn't like Banhammer and thinks that he is a narcissist

- He is really passionate about his job and wanted to become a policeman since spawn

- He enjoys growing bonsai trees as a hobby

Doing this for the first time! It's pretty cool to see how you progress through the year..

I didn't make any actual artwork from September to November, so I pasted my traditional art :/

This year was pretty good! I haven't made a huge amount of progress though. But my art style changed, that's for sure!
