lucianofsin:
“Unhand me, you fiend!” Came the immediate response to the grab at his arm. Far too dramatic for the situation but with the way his smirk sat on his lips, it was evident he was only teasing. “I’m on my way there, myself.” He brushed her hand off and gestured to the archway a bit of a distance away “Walk with me. I’m not really in the mood to steer anyone wrong today so rest assured, you’ll make it to your destination.”
That’s certainly a response and it has Victoria confused more than on edge. Eyebrows shoot up in surprise, then furrowed together a moment later trying to determine if this is him or just a dramatic. Fellow werewolf.. An Alpha at that. Standing quickly, dropping his arm from her grip. “Sorry- getting used to this whole being a person thing again.” His offer to take her directly there is a relief and Victoria shoves her things into the bag, nodding enthusiastically. “I’m Victoria. You are..?”

People in this school got weirder by the second. It was almost insulting to Amy how so many of them were lauded as the future of supernatural community while she had to struggle to prove herself. “You grabbed me like some freak. What the hell were you thinking?” She says with almost a mocking chuckle. “Yeah, blushes. I’ve been teasing that man for like 2 weeks now and I can feel how close he is to cracking. I mean, who wouldn’t want this, right?”
.
“What is your problem?” Confusion shifts to anger, reaction to the hateful way the one in front of them. “Seriously, did something happen after the dance? We had a really great time together and you’ve been really nice after. I thought we were becoming friends.” Hands in pockets still but balled into fists before shrugging. “You know what, Evelyn. Don’t worry about it- clearly you were just playing with the poor pitiful werewolf to get closer to Professor Hughes.” Slamming her books closed and shoving them into her bag, Victoria shoulders passed the vampire hard- “I thought you were different,” is seethed out as they shove passed.
serena-foster:
She’d been trying to make her way to class - this place was ridiculous, but she’d been warned by her family members what to expect here and there with the academy. What Serena didn’t expect was to be grabbed by someone. Her nose wrinkling, she swallows the retort on her lips and stares down at the.. wolf? “Do I look like a werewolf to you? Which is to say, I don’t know. I just got here. And I’m late.”
The words come out of Victoria before they can even filter the thoughts. “No, you look like a bitch.” A half a moment later, the werewolf realizes what they said and just look up in horror at the other. The day was not going great and the werewolf was struggling, sadly meaning that this stranger was getting the brunt of that frustration. “That- I’m sorry. That was rude.”
royaldesire:
The emotional hangover after the ball was much worse than anything she felt physically after once again failing to impress the high supernatural society — not for fault of her own, mind you — so she was less than excited to go back to classes. She was already running late for her own standards when she was grabbed. “What do you think you’re doing?” Amy reacted on impulse, yanking her arm free of the student’s grasp. “You’re looking for Nathan’s class? Right, great. You’re on the wrong floor, it should be around here if you just go up the stairs. Tell him that miss Uehara sent him a kiss. Tell me if he blushes.”
.
The happiness they felt at seeing Evelyn dropped the moment the other’s attitude seemed to have changed. Confused, Victoria jumped up and almost reached for them again before hands drop back down and shove into the pockets of their pants. “Uh, did I do something wrong?” Abandoning the original query, wanting to know why the sudden shift in attitude. “Wait, why- Blushes? What?”
aurorarhett:
who: anyone (open) where: boveri courtyard
Her head was bent, lips moving silently as she read from the textbook in her lap. Despite it’s subject, Sinistra was very familiar to the university she’d attended pre-transition. If it wasn’t for the magic, vampires, and literal void in the basement, Aurora could almost pretend she was back home. Almost. Flipping the page, she started to read the next sentence and quickly stopped with a growl. It made no sense - turning the last page back, she scanned it before groaning - apparently, nothing she read had actually sunk in.
A wave of irrational anger shot through her and before her brain could catch up, Aurora threw the book across the courtyard. The loud ‘thunk’ caused a few heads to turn her way and she flushed with embarrassment. “Sorry, sorry,” she mumbled, scurrying over to where her book lay open on the ground, pages open flat against the ground.
“Is there even a point to this?” she said, mostly to herself. Picking up the book, she started t o head back to where her bag was leaning against a stone bench, just as a shadow crossed her path. “I’m sorry about that,” she said sheepishly, assuming the person had just seen her temper tantrum. “Who knew pack dynamics could be so frustrating?”
It seems that the courtyard was a common place to study between classes, students coming and going with various books and study materials. Vic felt more at comfort here in the grass than anywhere in the building, having been ejected from the Conservatory by the witches. How were they supposed to know it was their territory? So the minimal grass and greenery in the courtyard had become Victoria’s favorite spot and it seems they weren’t the only one.
“I remember being really frustrated with it when I was a kid.” Safe enough subject, Vic doesn’t feel that pang they usually get talking about The Before. The alpha looks over at the books the other is holding and gives a shrug. “Want some help?”
freshblooded:
Victoria’s smile makes them smile, in a sort of easy way that they hadn’t been able to manage in a long while. Clearing her throat, she adjusts to try and make herself seem a little more aloof than she felt. “I’ve heard that so many times. Both ways. Werewolves smell like wet dog, vampires just smell bad – witches smell.. enticing.” They clear their throat and ignore the way their mouth waters at that. It’s been a minute since she’d fed from the vein. So she takes a long sip of her bag an tries not to make it too awkward. “I can show you where you need to go?”
“Really?” They seem almost.. taken aback by the statement that werewolves smell like wet dog. Confusion settles in before quickly wiped away by another grin, the smile passing back and forth between the pair seems to only be infectious. “I think vampires smell- cold. Like winter. You know how it smells outside when things are dormant, like dead but not dead. That’s what you smell like to me. Like flowers used to smell good but they’re just like a memory.”
Eyes glance toward the bag in the other’s hand but ultimately decided to ignore it. They’re not the first one Victoria has seen with blood in their hands and it seems to be a pretty common occurrence around here. Looking around, they nod. “Yeah, yeah I’d like that. I’m still getting lost. I’m not used to all of this yet. — Only if you’re not using me to skip class.”

They thought they looked a little more than ridiculous with their blood bag in hand like one might carry an ice coffee, but they’d been peckish and didn’t want to deal with whatever might happen if they had to head down to the winery today. It was a good way to stave off the hunger, at least - and.. it was pretty normal, at least, for here. No vampire spared her a second glance. She’d been chewing at the end of her ‘straw’ for a second, tapping her pen on her notepad as she tried to remember the rest of what she’d needed to get done for the day.
It was still morning at least, so when she saw Victoria walking across the way, she didn’t feel bad for abandoning her notepad to catch her. “Victoria -” They called before they caught up. “I didn’t expect to run into you again yet – This hall’s pretty much just for vampire classes. Except for the one at the end, but he’s a little weird. You don’t have him, do you?” She pulled the straw between her lips again for a long sip, cheeks a bit flushed.
This whole getting lost thing was grating on the werewolf really quickly. Before they would be able to smell their way out, track the forest but here there was too much. Too many smells, too many sounds, too many people. Hearing her name though, Victoria stops and turns toward the source. Smile breaks way to the surface as they approach. “Uh- No. I’m running an errand for another professor. Something about how vampires smell bad and they don’t like this floor.”
Sitting in the middle of the courtyard, papers spread around and staring intently at the map, Victoria sits lost. “Huge.” Muttered to themself, turning the map in every direction trying to figure out where her next class is. A body passes by and she grabs them, without thinking, to get attention and stop them to help her. “Where is the Alpha class?”
do you lose control of your emotions often? if so, how do you ground yourself
[ squints in being stuck as a wolf for 16 years because of trauma. ]
who's made you smile the most since arriving at the academy?
A deep sadness sits in those blue eyes. “I don’t know.” Genuinely, Victoria doesn’t think they remember how to smile.
do you think you'll ever turn someone to be a part of your pack?
The answer is quick, almost snapped. “No.” They will not force this life on to anyone else, ever.
freshblooded:
The hand on hers nearly makes her jump, but she takes a steadying breath so she doesn’t jerk away. Still, the touch is comforting. Much more than she wants to admit. But she doesn’t expect the proposal, almost laughing it off as if it were a joke - but something tells her that Victoria is not joking. Sucking in a breath, she moves her hand to grip onto the werewolf’s hand tightly. “While I don’t think we’d get hurt jumping down - we probably shouldn’t.” Ever a rule follower, through and through. “People might care. And what if something happens?” Her worry shines through in her questioning, “Let’s just - we can still hear the music here some, we could..” Hard swallow. “Dance. Or.. something. We don’t have to go back in.”
Instinct, maybe, draws Vic to shift her hand in the other’s and lace their fingers between Evelyn’s as the other squeezes theirs. The decline of the proposal doesn’t anger or hurt them, instead the werewolf just laughs it off with a shrug. “You’re right. Beck would ground me for eternity I think.” It’s said more for themself, a reminder that someone out there cares again and that alone is different and something Victoria has to get used to all over. Turning so the two are away from the banister, the smaller werewolf places a hand on the vampire’s waist and looks around. “I don’t know how to dance. I saw it in a movie-” Once before it got weird and Vic turned it off out of second hand embarrassment.
what would you do if you found the hunters that killed your family?
This seems to be the same question a lot of people have asked her since she resurfaced. At first they had been upset by it, it brought forth an anger that made her very skin ache as if the beast behind the surface wants to crawl out.
She’s thought about this, for a long time it was the only thing she thought about. Hunt those that hunted her- a secret the little wolf has told no one. “I took care of that already.” They’ve tasted the blood of the people that spilled her family’s. Victoria Kane watched as they died under her paw, blood stains in her fur. “They tasted horrible.”
what do you miss the most about your family? who do you miss the most?
"I miss the smell of my mom's perfume." Voice shakes, cracks, the second she begins speaking. It’s hard even now to talk about them. It may have been 16 years ago for everyone else but Victoria remembers it as if it was yesterday. “I miss waking up on Saturday mornings with my brothers and running around outside until Dad got home from work. He would make us this huge breakfast with everything and then we’d go do something as a family.”
The voice crack turns to a sob as they remember that Saturday morning. The one were they lost everything. “I miss them all. Every single one of them. David and Greg, the twins, would have been eighteen this year. Aaron, the oldest, he would be old enough to take over the pack but I guess that’s my job now.” Shuttered breaths, broken by sobs that shake those tiny shoulders. They just seem so much smaller than they normally are, closed in on themself. “Mom and Dad- this winter would be their 30th anniversary. Did you know my Dad and I share a birthday?”
When hearing about the body, Vic didn’t even take the time to register that they were dead or alive before the werewolf is pushing aside strangers searching for @beckcross. Panic is cold, sets in so quickly, and it’s all they can do not to shift and tear through the room to find him. Wolf senses would be much more useful, comfortable, than relying on the two legged form.
Finding him, Vic grabs his arm tightly and looks him up and down. “Sorry-” They realize just how frantic they had been just then. What was is the therapist called it? PTSD trigger- yeah- that. “I thought- I got scared.”
freshblooded:
“It was a little bit rude.” They’re able to admit that easily, but all the same they don’t take offense. Being on edge can make people say things they don’t mean, in the tone they don’t mean. “More so the tone than anything, though. But it’s okay, I get it.” She shifts a bit to look over at the werewolf - at least to get a better look than she had before in the sun room. Out here in the night, she feels more at ease, even if she misses the sun dearly. “I was turned two years ago, so.. all the sights and sounds and stuff, they can get to be too much.” This time when she speaks, she keeps her voice soft, soothing - trying to provide a distraction for Victoria to hopefully ease whatever it is she’s going through. Well, that, and she can’t do much else other than ramble on. “It’s weird, though, because I definitely wanted to come here before I was turned - because I was a witch - I mean, a magi. So a human first, then a witch, now.. Anyways, I also don’t really know anyone here, so it sort of blows seeing all these people who’ve been friends for years having a good time together. So.. fresh air. And a werewolf, apparently.”
“In my defense, I’m working on it.” A small shrug as she turns to face away from the school, hands braced on the railing as well. The ground isn’t too far below them, an easy enough jump for her and she bets a vampire can do it twice as easily. Blue eyes cut toward the other as she rambles on, lips twisting into a twitching smile as they listen. “Trust me when I say I know almost exactly what you’re going through.” The rambling, as much as it’s nearly as overwhelming as anything else, is kind of cute so Victoria doesn’t mind as much. Reaching over to place her hand on the other’s, meant to be calming. A faint memory of how her mother used to do that to them. “Do you want to leave? I don’t think anyone will care- a lot of people left early. We can jump down here.” Leaning a little further other the railing, they smile more to themselves.
