Eagles at the Shore
I know white eagles were spirit guides. Protecting us both. A large group of eagles is hungrily staking their spot at the shoreline like they are in the middle of eating. Every last bit is being pecked away, guards-up. I don't remember sharing this piece, it was made in 2018 and was my 2nd or 3rd oil painting. It always felt eerily unfinished, but maybe that's the perpetual state of nearly everything. There are more birds and more branches and dried bushes. Birds can symbolize freedom, but i think more about their ruthless survivalism, their adaptability, their omnivorous-ness. I think about calculativity, fear, mentality. It's certainly heralded the following 8 years on a much grander scale of things as well. This is the new reality and we've all accepted that we are in it. I am really looking forward to this Uranus in Gemini cycle, I think it's going to be a whole lot of amusement-park-style fun.
