OMG OMG I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Vindicta mdp they're mY ABSOLUTE FAVVVVV AND THE ART IS SO YUMMMYYYYYYY. Im curios tho what is the relationship between siffrin and MDP in this AU? In the previous comic it seemed like they reached some sort of understanding? Or perhaps like sif is suffering a bit from all of this? Or mdp is somewhat caring towards him?
Also this isn't about the relationship between characters but another question I had is WHERE IS SIFFRIN??? is he trapped inside a tower smh like Rapunzel (first step to becoming a full time princess I guess)
OUGH!! HELLO ANON WHOSE FAVORITE IS VINDICTA. I'M SO HAPPY TO HEAR THEY'RE SOMEONE'S FAVORITE OUT OF MY MDPs YOU HAVE NO IDEA. (I mean. I love them all. But I was not expecting Vindicta to be someone's favorite and it makes me genuinely so happy. BECAUSE THAT MEANS I GET TO TALK ABOUT THEM!!! MWAHHAHA!!)
Vindicta MDP (Or, well, just Vindicta for short) and Siffrin… they're definitely not like "wow we're so so besties hehe!!!!", but they're not at each other's throats either. Instead, Siffrin kind of sees Vindicta as the only "person" they have left. Their only "friend" left. It's okay, Vindicta knows what they are doing ! They're protecting him, and they're avenging him! He wished for them to know this pain after all! And not only them, the whole country… No, the whole WORLD to know this pain!!!!! Although, well. They mostly wished for their family to suffer as much as they did. It's only fair after all, right? It was not fair that he had to suffer like this alone. They will never understand, and the only way for them to understand is by living through what he did!!!
And this is what Vindicta is doing! Making the party suffer as much (if not more) as Siffrin, just as he wished.
And while all this is happening, Siffrin is remaining "locked away" in an empty void, with mindless/hivemind-like Mal du Pays as only company. It's not much, but at least they're not alone. They will never be alone. Because unlike those pesky "friends", Vindicta will make sure they will never be left behind. Let's just not mention the fact that those MDPs also serve as extra eyes for Vindicta so they can see if something happens to Siffrin, or if someone manages to get in while they're not supposed to.
Vindicta also often makes sure Siffrin is fine. Or, well, at least physically fine. Because reassuring Siffrin doesn't seem to be much of an option, since they're too tired and weak to listen to words and everything… Plus, Vindicta isn't really. One for reassurance. Mostly with how they're often pretty cold and not up for conversation. (At least they're not angry at Siffrin! They keep their anger for towards the party :3)
Yet… While at first Siffrin does not necessarily care, he eventually begins to miss his friends a bit. Sometimes he remembers about moments they had together, sometimes nice dialogues, and sometimes less nice ones… Sure, all of this is their fault (…right? It can't be his fault, after all!), but still… He's feeling a bit bad. He knows Vindicta is hurting their old friends - their family - , and it hurts. It hurts to know he's letting it happen, without a care in the world. He already thought about asking Vindicta to stop, but they're doing so much for him. He subconsciously crafted them for this purpose too, didn't they? He can't just take it away from them.
Whenever Siffrin asks about their old friends, Vindicta often answers with words similar to "They're getting what they deserve." or "They are fine. Stop worrying about those who hurt you so badly. It will make you feel worse for no reason.", never giving much details, just in case it would make Siffrin feel worse. Because Vindicta doesn't want that! They want to help Siffrin, not make it worse for them. (They just do it VEEEERY BADLY)
But even if you were to tell Vindicta that the best way to help Siffrin was to. You know, let him talk to his friends and open up and all??? They would not listen to you. Because to their eyes there is absolutely no good in the party's hearts and are "pure evil who hurt Siffrin and need punishment for that" (Precised why they see them this way a bit later).
As for the physical caring… Siffrin dying probably is not! A good path. Both for Siffrin, and for Vindicta. Because Vindicta is linked to Siffrin in a way that if Siffrin dies, Vindicta does too. (After all, if there isn't anyone else to avenge… What is left of them? After they lose their very reason to exist? The very reason why the Universe brought them to life in the first place?) So Vindicta always makes sure to try and keep Siffrin fed, even if he's often a bit reluctant at the idea. But Vindicta will always stay until Siffrin eats to make sure they actually do feed themselves.
They have! Absolutely no idea how to help with Siffrin's fever though! They're not a doctor! And they don't know how to use Wish Craft to heal someone, what if they do something wrong? They exist to cause pain, and they wouldn't want to risk hurting Siffrin! So they just hope it fixes itself. (It doesn't… It doesn't. Siffrin doesn't die or anything, but they remain in a pretty weak state constantly. Which does not help with their thinking nor reasoning.)
Vindicta also is. Very much overprotective of Siffrin. Or well at least gets easily infuriated towards anything that they consider as harmful to Siffrin and tend to "overreact". As an example, imagine stealing food from Siffrin when he was hungry. Vindicta will find you and probably lock you up somewhere until you die of starvation or something. Yikes. And then of course make you loop back because they're not done with you or something. Morale of the story, do not harm Siffrin in any way. Honestly at this point pray you never ever said anything that they would've taken negatively. Because Vindicta is a drama queen (/silly) and is exclusively made out of those negative feelings towards the party (that's all they know! "What do you mean Siffrin ever had good moments with them??? No they didn't??? I don't remember them???") and WILL use that against you in their morbid "show".
But this also caused some… Pretty over-the-top ways Vindicta use towards the party. "Mocked Siffrin that one time because of the kitchen counter? Next time you hit your knee against a table or something your leg will fall off." kinda thing. I don't have any actual "au-canon" examples in mind right now, but you get the idea.
At the very least, Siffrin is mostly unaware of what Vindicta precisely is making the party go through, or the state of the world outside… For they, once again, are in fact locked away in some kind of void. I'm not too sure where that void is, if it's inside Siffrin's mind or if it's a pocket dimension Vindicta crafted, but it's most likely accesible from the outside. Definitely not easily, but there is some kind of way in. Because eventually the party will manage to get in :p And see the locked up Siffrin who still has a very bad fever from craft overuse, and who refuses to even talk or look at them!!! Lovely!
But yes. They kind of are turning into a Rapunzel. Everyday we get closer to a Slay the Princess Siffrin.
Surely one day the party will find a way to get to Siffrin and help him out. Both help him mentally and also help him OUT OF HERE THE WORLD IS CRUMBLING BECAUSE OF YOU SIFFRIN. GIRL. I GUESS VINDICTA IS KINDA HOLDING IT TOGETHER BUT GIRL WHAT THE CRAB WAS THAT WISH MAN I GET YOU WERE MAD AND ALL BUT STILL.
Okay that. Actually is a LOT OF TEXT WOW. I hope I managed to answer properly and if you have any more questions/need more precisions please do not hesitate I love talking about my critters…
