i’ve seen criticism about claire and bell's romance moving too fast (mainly after the first kiss) and i can see where people are coming from, but i also think there’s an element of trauma bonding that is factoring heavily into their romance right now.

not only over the general fact that they’re in prison together and have both struggled before connecting with each other but especially after both losing their parental figures… they need the comfort they’re finding in each other and the intimacy is the way they’re choosing to express that.

bell finds safety in claire in a way that no one else could afford her (not even kae up until very recently) and claire has found someone else aside from pa'porn who treats her like an actual human. things that both of them have needed and yearned for and found in each other

not to say there’s no actual interest or romantic feelings there because i think there are but i think the constant trauma they’re experiencing is amplifying everything for them as well

There’s another possible explanation that occurred to me for Cir hiding things, Jin calling him a liar, that high school flashback not being from Cir’s original world (which is what I would expect a genre story to be showing us at this point), and the relative lack of genre trappings in the beginning of the story. Which is that none of this parallel world stuff is real, and Cirrus is making it up as a way to get close to Phukan.

MAME does love writing characters who push boundaries in ways that are over the line and then finding a way to make them redeemable. And she hasn’t done a genre story before. So if Cirrus is making it up, the real mystery here is why on earth he would do that rather than just approaching Phu in a normal way. What would be the reason??

The main reason I'm inclined to believe this is because of the talk about Phu's guardian angel in episode one. Someone said his angel must be sick to account for Phu's bad luck, and the camera immediately cut to Cir in the hospital. It immediately made me think that Cir had been high-key crushing on Phu since high school but unable/unwilling to approach, so he just stalked him and did him anonymous favors instead -- favors Phu attributed to his 'guardian angel.' Of course those favors stopped when Cir was hospitalized.

Then I remembered two other things from episode one:

1) Cir got hit by a car after fighting off car thieves protecting PHU'S car. He sat at that bus stop bench until Phu safely got in his car and drove away completely oblivious to Cir's actions, and only then did Cir stand up and start walking (only to be hit by the car). This gives further proof to the stalker/'guardian angel' Cir theory.

And 2) Jin's comment to Phu questioning whether it's that Phu's never seen Cir before in all these places, or that he's just never noticed (which implies Jin did notice, and knows that Cir has been Phu's 'guardian angel' all along).

If this is the case, then Jin's ominous comment about Cir telling Phu the truth is specifically about fessing up to having been his benevolent stalker/'guardian angel.'

And if this the case, I expect Cir really did just have a coma dream about being in a relationship with Phu and woke up confused, since the scene of him alone in his apartment in the dark in episode one clearly showed his confusion.

ALTERNATIVELY, JIN COULD BE FROM CIR'S OG WORLD (which could be slightly ahead of this world time wise) AND KNOW SOMETHING TRAGIC ABOUT PHU (like that he's dead? himself in a coma?). This theory is not incompatible with this world's Cir being Phu's 'guardian angel.' and it also explains why Cir is not trying to get back to his own world's Phu. It also explains Jin's mysterious comments (and why he seems to know some of what's happening before it happens, like predicting the quiz in episode 1).
