The thing with queerbaiting is that in order for it to be considered queerbaiting it has to make sense for the plot that the two characters of the same gender end up together, so when the queerbaiting happens the plot is negatively affected. Or in other words, the writers are more homophobic than they are good at writing

When I'm reading a college byler fic where they live in an apartment I always imagine the exact same apartment, in every single fic. It doesn't matter if there's a description or if it's inconvenient for whatever reason, the apartment that I created in my imagination is ALWAYS there
