i hc that hizashi Can Not sleep in. An off day in the Yamada-Aizawa household is rare on its own, but juggling his 937393728 jobs and 2 kids and 3 cats… hizashi never really… rests.

i think he is always on high alert, which makes him a light sleeper.

it seems that any noise in the house leads to him being up and coherent.

so they make it their Mission to let hizashi sleep as much as possible on his next off day

they tiptoe around the house

the tv is practically on mute

theyve been shushing each other

until they remembered something.

Hizashi is Deaf.

then it dawned on shouta. anytime his husband was abruptly awaken, it was the lights, never the noise.

so they made it their NEW mission;

keep the lights off while hizashi has a lie in

(and they felt dumb the rest of the day)

arguments never last long in the yamada-aizawa household.

full blown yelling to petty bickering; they always apologize to each other

they know tomorrow isnt guaranteed and never want the last words they hear from each other be something negative

they got into an argument once, and went to bed angry. both of them are stubborn and didnt want to apologize.

until that night when hizashi got a call that shouta was critically injured on patrol

not only was he full of fear for his injured husband, but he was terrified the worst could happen and the last thing he said was hurtful

as soon as he showed up to the hospital room and saw shouta on the hospital bed, apologies stumbled out of his mouth.

he knew that would be the first and last time they didn’t apologize to each other.

they both have tasted death.

they both knew how it felt to be the one in the bed and the one sitting in the chair.

they both experienced that fear of wondering what they would tell the kids.

they both knew they loved each other, but they make a point to say it every day now.

personally, i lean towards shouta yamada bc i think it sounds better, but in reality i think they would just hyphenate it. they just agree that they like both their last names and boom;

shouta aizawa-yamada and hizashi yamada-aizawa

when they adopt their kids hitoshi kinda just latched onto aizawa (simplicity of already having a last name) and eri (who doesnt know her legal last name) uses both yamada and aizawa 🙂‍↕️

hizashi is SUCH a flirt and he is Loud about it.

shouta doesnt care if ppl find out about them as an item, but when hizashi starts to get touchy or flirty, all of shouta’s “coolness” goes out the window.

im talkin red cheeks (that the capture scarf so conveniently hides), stuttering, even swatting hizashi’s hands away.

and hizashi loves these reactions so much that they basically fuel him to keep going.
