"uh- hello?" *a man pokes his head around the doorframe with a sheepish look on his face.* "uh, apologies. i don't mean to be a bother. august saw you and said he thought we might've been alive at the same time from the looks of you, and im curious. i'll leave if you ask me to, but is it alright for me to ask when you were alive?"

*he hesitates for a moment.* "oh, yeah, uh. my name is bird. or avery. either one is fine."

{he peered over at the man, tilting his head slightly. His ponytail swung behind him in a similar fashion to a horse’s tail as his head turned.}

Aye, could be the case. What year are y’all from? {he grinned slowly.}

"i dont remember my own death, but august remembers mine. says i died in 1890, or somethin' of the sort. and i remember being alive in 1875. so, thats a general time frame."

"oh, yeah. from, like, georgia or somethin'? i dont remember. we did cattle drives. and then we stopped doing cattle drives when the police came after us."

{his eyes widened.}

Damn. Well, fellas like y’all can stop by any time, I was also fr’m them parts.

AUGJ- ..Augh, Riley, y’cant do that.

*he stares at him unblinkingly for about thirty more seconds before lighting up, bouncing on his toes as he gives a cheerful whistle. He shoves his notepad into Shirley's hands before scampering out of the room, Chekov right at his heels*

"Made you and Mr. Bones breakfast, don't move."

…I don’t smell smoke, s’ I’ll trust you on that.

*he comes back a few minutes later, carefully carrying a tray that looks suspiciously like a large cutting board, and sets it next to Shirley, giving him an earnest look. He has apparently tried (key word here being tried) to make pancakes and eggs, with some very floppy bacon on the side, and the only thing on the plate that doesn't appear to be either burnt, or severely undercooked, is the mangoes he's stolen from somewhere in the fridge (sorry Holly).*

"I'll go back and get the tea, I didn't want it to spill"

His cheeks are slightly flushed from sleep, and his hair is an absolute mess, and once he catches sight of Shirley in the corner, he settles for resting his head back on Lewis' shoulder, chirping contently*

*he trills as Shirley in response, but makes no move to actually get up. He's perfectly content to stay in Lewis' lap and snuggle*

{he hands Riley a bowl, then taps Lewis’s forehead.}

*He takes it, setting it down on the table before rubbing at his eyes, and giving Shirley a questioning whistle before pointing at the bowl and miming blowing on something hot*

..er, yeah, prob’ly best to let it cool.

*he yawns, pulling back to wait for it to cool, blinking up at Shirley pensively. He's surprisingly calm for having just slept, especially having slept outside his room, with people around*

*He promptly sits back up and chirps at Lewis, happily nudging him with his head*
