remembered this bullshit series
if u don’t like my posts send me $1000 and i’ll delete whatever one u want
Hi, me again. Is the finale the last episode ever, or will there be more? I'm confused about this as I haven't kept up with SaSi news since the last last episode came out (4 years ago) so I'm not sure what's going on exactly.
Also, side question, I love how Janus noticed Logan's eyes going orange. I can't wait to see how the orange side side-story is going to progress. :]
— 🦇
It's not *supposed* to be the last episode ever. Whether that's gonna stay true depends on how lazy Thomas is...
One can only hope it’s the last episode ever 💀
When/if the finale comes out... what will it even be about? Thomas' arc? And, if so, which one? His procrastination? His relationship with Nico? His relationship with himself? All three?
Or will it be more about the sides and their arcs? Doubt it, with Thomas' ego, but if so... Which arc? The dark sides' rushed redemption? Logan not feeling appreciated? Roman's abandoned arc? Patton's abandoned arc? Orange side??
There are so many loose ends and arcs that need completing that I don't think can be satisfyingly done even in four parts. I'm not saying that Thomas and crew have to fix everything in the finale. Especially since, supposedly, there's going to be more show after this. But, if you still believe that, I have a bridge to sell you. But, what I am saying is that there's so much that needs to be addressed that probably never will be. Even if the show gets the Simpsons treatment and goes on for a million more seasons. Because, quite frankly, Thomas is kind of a shit writer. At least when it comes to more than telling jokes. He's quick on his feet, and gives a good performance, but when it comes to actually putting what he has to preform on paper? Well... you've seen the recent output + the continual postponing of the finale.
Its so upsetting that side photoshoots & blooper videos & literal fucking ads have turned in2 "main content". That if anyone tries to claim Thomas & his crew have not posted shit, the team's response is "hey! We did do sanders sides content! You know, that ad where we talk about our merch/patreon/etc?" Like some sort of "got you".
When you create something, the main content is the thing you created. For example, 'The Good Place' is a show with 4 seasons; each episode is the content. When the NBC released bloopers for each seasons, while that is content, that is not main content for the series. It is additional content. It is unnecessary fun that is unrelated to the original series, because... it doesn't add anything. Bloopers do not add to the story or plot. A lot of times this content doesn't need to exist, but it is fun if it does!
Additional content comes with the main content. We have the series and then fun side things. We should not be counting this content as Thomas & his crew "doing something Sanders Sides related, so you can't say he hasn't done anything."
The thing is, though, we have started to count additional & unnecessary content as main content because we have not fucking gotten a main Sanders Sides episode in almost 3 years (it will be 3 years in May). Bloopers and Tik toks and photos are supposed to come WITH or AFTER the literal content of the series, but all we have been getting is that type of content for THREE YEARS.
If I walk into a Hot Topic and see Monster High Merch, that's not fucking content for the Monster High series. When your favourite Youtuber posts a photo of themself on Instagram that is not their content. If an artist posts WIP drawings to their Twitter that isn't their content. If I am listening to a podcast and at the end of the podcast they give an ad for merch, thats NOT THE CONTENT. THE CONTENT IS THE PODCAST, NOT THE FUCKING ADS? For the love of god, I feel like I am losing my mind.
Do you think Logan ever talks to the others about emotions?
I know he’s very reluctant to discuss them, or really admit that he even feels them sometimes, but maybe he gets curious one day and goes up to them separately- quietly - under the guise of an experiment, asking very simply, “What do you feel?”
Roman answers the easiest. “I feel brave,” he smiles, then frowns when he sees Logan’s unimpressed eyebrow raise. “What? Bravery can be a feeling, too!” Logan doesn’t answer, just scribbles in a notebook, until the prince sighs. “Confident. I feel confident.”
And that’s that.
Virgil takes a little bit longer, chewing on his lip for a second before starting slowly, “…Panicky? Sometimes, I mean. Just- when your heart speeds up, and you’re shaky, and everything’s too fast, y’know? Or annoyed.” And Logan doesn’t need an explanation for that one, having just come from Roman’s room and all, but he does make a mental note to research relaxation techniques later.
When Logan asks Patton, he takes the longest to answer by far - something Logan didn’t quite expect; the moral side sits for a minute and blinks at him, his mouth scrunched to the side.
“Sad.”
And Logan definitely didn’t expect that.
“Not all the time,” Patton continues idly, “but sometimes I’m overwhelmed, like when nothing goes right and I just feel like crying. Sometimes I feel… kinda empty? Sometimes I’m tired and frustrated with everything and a lot of other stuff- but all together, it just bundles up to ‘sad’.”
Logan can only stare at him with a tight frown, notebook abandoned in his lap, because he hasn’t heard something like that from the Patton since their argument in his room, and he didn’t quite realize the moral side still had those moments - but what worries him even more is that he understands. He’s spent countless nights in front of his desk, the only light drifting from his fading lamp, eyes tired and brain too slow to be useful, and he’s felt hollow in every sense of the word.
Patton glances over and smiles; it’s soft, and wan, and Logan gets the feeling that Patton knows what the logical side really meant when he asked his original question: Why?
“But sad isn’t forever,” he hums, glancing out the window, staring at the rising moon and all its stars, “even if it it feels like it is, because every time I go outside is another time I get to see the sunshine or feel rain - I get to watch the leaves change colors, and then I get to wait for them to come back when they fall, and I get to smile when they bring flowers with them. Every day, I get to hear a new song, or I learn something funny I haven’t seen before, something I get to tell my family and see their smiles again, and every night, I get to see the stars - I get to watch them shine and make their shapes and I get to learn their stories, one by one. Every time I wake up and open my eyes is another day of things I’ve never experienced and things I have, things I love and things I might.”
His eyes twinkle when he meets Logan’s gaze again, but this time, his smile is bright, the shining beam Logan recognizes so immediately.
“Every moment I exist feels hopeful, and that’s a lot more permanent than being sad.”
