Virgil woke, sitting up in the armchair quickly. Had he fallen asleep in public? The mortification would have made his heart race, but... his heart wasnt racing? In fact, he couldnt feel the normal tightness in his chest either. Had he been drugged? Where was he? Who are all these people? Where was he?? He began looking for an exit. Did he still have both his kidneys?

Everyone around him seems to be mostly in the same boat; some panicking and looking around in a panic, while others are curled in on themselves or staring at the floor blankly. The energy is... a weirdly somber anxiety, and yet everyone seems roughly in the same boat. He seems to be in some kind of bland reception space; like a weird mix between a doctor's waiting room and the DMV. Above on the TVs, there's not shows but rather simple instructions. A few of the other people seem to be forming a queue in front of a receptionist, and as people enter they slowly make their way to line.
Later that night, Roman is waiting out front of the office building, hyping himself up to hang out with Virgil.
Virgil paused, checking himself over in the mirror one more time. He had changed into a back top with lace sleeves and some bell bottom pants. He had tried on some light purple eyeshafow with a darker purple lip. He hoped he didn't look ridiculous. But after hyping himself up just a little more he walked over to meet Roman.
Roman smiles, wearing a stylish yet pirate blouse with a red sash around the middle, dark brown pants, and brown boots with little gold accents in his jewelry. On top of that, he has a gentle swish of gold eyeliner over deep red eyeshadow, and a gentle red lipgloss with flecks of gold shimmer.
"Hey." He says, waving.
"Hey," Virgil waved back, walking closer. The pressure in his chest was the familiar feeling of when his heart used to race. "I hope you weren't waiting long. You look great!"
"You look incredible." He says, smiling softly. He takes the other's hand, leaning down to kiss the back of it with a wink. "There's no need to worry. Getting to be with such lovely company is worth the wait."
Virgil felt a blush crawl up his cheeks, unsure what to do. He leaned in and kissed the top of Romans head. "And handsome company makes getting dolled up worth the effort."
Roman chuckles, standing up. "I'm glad." He hums. "Is there somewhere specifically you'd like to go to, tonight?"
"I dont have my heart set on anything. Is there something you've been wanting to do?"
"I've been all over, so I'm interested in whatever." He says, truthfully. "So long as we have a fun time, it will have been worth it."
"Well, in that case... is there any good music spots here? Like band nights? I used to love hearing live music. I... is it still live music here?"
Roman chuckles. "There's a few bars here and there. What food sounds best?"
"Uhm... does any place serve nachos with lots of cheese and pickled jalapeños?"
Roman perks up, nodding. "A few."
"Any that have stuff you like to eat too?"
He thinks. "I do have a couple favorites. Is the bar all you'd want to do tonight?"
"I dunno. I... im not sure what people do. I didn't get out much."
He nods. "That's fair. There's quite a few places to go, so... what do you like to do outside of music stuff?"
"Uhm... i liked poetry... bowling. I thought art was pretty cool. I loved Disney villains."
Roman perks up. "Disney?"
"Yeah. I dressed up as Constance the attic bride one year for Halloween. I memorized the haunted mansion greeting." He admits shyly. "I even got to play Ursula one year in school for a little mermaid production."
Roman coos gently. "I've played basically every Disney prince on stage."
"That sounds so fun! Did you have a favorite? Did you do the into the woods princes?"
"Yes! Specifically, I was Cinderella's prince in Into the Woods."
"Ooh! Thats so cool!"
He nods. "I might be able to find a theater where they're playing Disney movies, if you'd like?"
"Could we??" Virgils eyes widened in excitement.
Roman smiles. "Almost certainly. Would you wanna do that instead? Or maybe before?"
"How about instead? I don't love drinking. I just like the music."
He smiles, pulling out his phone to flick through some options. "Dinner there? Or somewhere else?"
"I suppose whatever youre feeling! Im happy with popcorn and mnms for dinner, but i don't wanna deprive you!"
Roman nods. "How about we watch a movie, and see where it takes us?"
"Sounds perfect!" He grins, fidgeting with his hands excitedly.
Roman smiles, offering a hand for the other to hold.
Virgil pauses for just a minute, then smiles and takes his hand.
Roman leads the other off to the train, and off into the city. Soon enough, they're standing in front of the coziest-looking theater Virgil's probably ever seen.
Virgil gasps, looking at at the theater in awe. He holds onto Romans arm to stay close as he eyes dart to every cozy little detail. "Its wonderful!"
Roman smiles. "It's a privacy theater, so we won't need to worry about other people getting frustrated if you'd want to sing or anything. It... is honestly one of my favorite places here..." He flushes softly.
"Really?" Virgil looked back to him in wonder. "We wont bother anyone of we sing? Not even the employees?"
He nods. "We get a fully private, automated room that we can use as long as we'd like. And it even has auto-delivery on popcorn and candy and other snacks.."
Virgil gasps in delight. "How long can we stay?"
"As long as we want."
"What are they showing first?"
"Oh, we can pick whatever we'd want." He hums. "So... what you want?"
"Oh! Uhm... I dunno. There are a lot of fun ones... uhm... I loved nightmare before Christmas, and the little mermaid. Uhm... Hercules is always fun too!"
He nods. "Why not all of them?"
"Do you have enough time for that?"
"I mean, we set what time we want it to be, no? So... I have as much time as you'd like." He smiles with a little wink.
"Oh right! That sounds amazing!" He beams, holding Romans arm.
Roman escorts him up the box office, ordering everything before escorting them off to a room. The inside is what looks like a private theater in a mansion, with lots of beanbags and cozy chairs. And lots of blankets and pillows. Roman goes to the back wall, and starts ordering some treats from the large screen across it. "What would you like?"
Virgils eyes widened as he saw the theater. "Oooh! Its so beautiful! We can really stay here as long as wed like? Uhm... Popcorn? And maybe some mnms too?"
Roman nods, ordering them. "Yup! And it auto cleans, so no need to worry about any messes."
Virgil watches every detail closely. "How do you not just live here?"
