Mount Hermon (33°24′58″N 35°51′27″E; Arabic: جبل الشيخ‎, Jabal el-Shaykh,"mountain of the chief" and "snowy mountain", Hebrew: הר חרמון‎, Har Hermon) is a mountain in the Anti-Lebanon mountain range. Its highest point is 2,814 m (9,232 ft) above sea level. This summit is on the border between Syriaand Lebanon.[1] Parts of the southern slopes fall within the Golan Heights, an area under Israeli control since the June 1967 Six-Day War.
