Just Keep On Creating
I have days where I struggle to put out content, scratch that, months where I've struggled. I've have writers block days and I've had days with little to no inspiration. Noticing that I kept looking through other people on social media envious of how aesthetically beautiful their pages, blogs, and photography looked I asked myself, "What keeps them creating such amazing content?" The thing about social media is that we have the freedom to post whatever it is that inspires us and makes us feel a sense of "connection." Social media can make a person feel bad about themselves but it can do so much good too. Someone can launch a business, Connect with like minded peers, You can even post your art for fun, or just Have some personal reason that you want to show yourself to the world. I never thought that I could write a blog and here I am attempting to do so for the sheer pleasure that my writing might inspire someone else to keep on creating. Everything in life isn't always aesthetic. It can be boring at times, you may be in a funk and just end up sitting in bed binge watching your favorite show eating processed snacks and doing laundry. That's okay for the moment, and in that moment you may glance at your camera sitting on that shelf and suddenly you're inspired to capture a moment of real life. That's what life is about. It's about creating. Mother's spend 9 months carrying a child not knowing what their child will look like, what personality they will have or what occupation they will grow up to pursue and still there are many women who choose to pro create with their partners or alone. They keep on creating even though they have no idea what this new little human will do in life but it's the act of creating another human that makes it a beautiful experience on it's own. That's the same way an artist gives birth to their artwork, or a writer gives birth to their novel, a photographer to their film, etc. It's all about the choice to keep creating. This world has taught me that so many people feel the same way I do about some of their hobbies and passions. It may be hard to come to terms with but a lot of us are insecure about what we put out on social media or show to the world. I can attest to that. I've always been a bit shy about what I put out to the world. If it's perfect enough. If I'm skilled enough to talk about a certain topic, am I knowledgeable enough to connect with intellectuals and talk about certain interests? All of that comes with practice though, doesn't it? Everything does. As infants we learn to walk, to talk, to become those people that create. So instead of dreading learning that new thing you want to do, keep practicing, keep striving, Keep on creating. We all need a little inspiration and we will always seek it. Don't forget that you may be able to be the inspiration others are looking for. Happy creating!
