TDWP2 WITH SPOILERS- my thoughts on Miranda
Donāt read if you havenāt seen
Miranda wasnāt Miranda in this one. Iām all for showing the changing landscape and how the characters had to adapt over time but I donāt agree with how they portrayed Miranda. She WASNāT the ICONIC figure we once knew. She was mean without showing her depth of character and knowledge in the first one. Basically she became a side character who was helpless and didnāt really have any part in the resolution of the plot.
Miranda in the first one had such internal and external power who was always thinking several steps ahead of everyone else and took matters into her own hands. Itās hard for me to believe she would be this passive about her career. Over the 20 years since, you want me to believe she slowly kept declining and let her career dwindle to what we see in this new film?! Based on the first movie Iād imagine she wouldāve made moves to climb higher and ADAPTED BETTER. And how would she not have already been in the position as āGlobal Head of Contentsā for example (Irv Ravits was finally going to promote her.. 20 years laterā¦. give me a break). It just didnāt do her character justice. She was the reason we all loved the first one which made it what it was.
