big tshirt that says YOUR INTERPRETATIONS MUST HAVE A STRONG BASIS IN THE SOURCE MATERIAL on the front and I HATE FUN on the back
I know your blog is dead but I've been lowkey haunted by Spring Awakening since the winter of 2013 (lol) and just recently discovered that a performance of Spring Awakening's 1999 workshop (video footage AND audio) is on vimeo. Search "spring awakening workshop" on vimeo and it should pop up. Trying to spread the word in case some peeps in the fandom haven't seen it on vimeo. Fascinating spring awakening historicity lol
hey im so sorry for not posting this sooner! I think i left it in my inbox so i wouldnt forget to go looking for it and then forgot to go looking for it. I don't think I've gotten an ask since you sent this so it's been hiding for a Long time. posting it now in case anyone sees and wants to go hunting for the workshop!
actually one more post before i log off for a year or whatever; genuinely this fandom is the one ive had the most fun in and made the most friends in and i hope that it remains a lovely and kind and funny community for those of you who are active in it now!! peace and love on planet earth
got curious about the state of the spring awakening tag and thrilled to report that there are some new and good takes going on in there i hope yall are having as much fun chewing on this musical as i did!!!!!
i love wendlaâs line âgrasping at pearls with my fingertipsâ in word of your body
people will use the phrase âclutching your pearlsâ when referring to someone disapproving over something considered âscandalousâ or âcontroversialâ (in short).
wendla knows what sheâs doing/feeling isnât âappropriateâ, but something about it is nice, isnât it?
sheâs not clutching her pearls, sheâs just grasping; allowing herself to feel these things rather than outright refusing or rejecting them (even if she knows thereâs something considered âscandalousâ about them).
In a championship battle, no one escapes unscathed.

go my undead moritzlings. go go go go
"i asked chatgpt" "i asked grok" well i asked moritz stiefel and Oh! oh my god he fucking shot himself what the hell
there are some asks that have been sitting in my ask box for 9 years and i was going to publish one of them because i have no idea what the context for it is and i think its kind of funny but i think i'm going to wait another year. seems like a great way to celebrate a decade of me knowing too much about spring awakening.

Alternative readings are good, I say, while grinding my teeth because I donât like this particular one
It makes for a healthy fandom ecosystem to have a variety of takes, I say, while halfway to seethingly daydreaming how I would carpet bomb this take out of existence if I could.
