I love how well Lukas becoming a writer was foreshadowed.

Like throughout season 1 even before the portal hall arc he was always looking through books, he was reading that one about the amulet back at the OG Order of the Stone's temple, and even when Jesse asks him about it he says it's; "Less technical, more historical." In the tone a common lit/book nerd would <3
Idk I just love his relationship with writing sm. I love how it seems to have always been an interest of his even before his character development. And the way he acts whenever someone points out his journal at first—like the sheepish laughing when Ivor mentions it in Access Denied and the quick defense of "Oh it's just a book I picked up at the white pumpkin's place!" As if he was prepared for ridicule...
I wonder if he was ever shamed or lowkey bullied by the other ocelots for his interest in reading. (It's a childish trope but I mean these were the same mf's constantly calling Jesse's team "the order of the losers" and hyping each other up with "good one. 😂" magbe lukas tried bringing up a book he liked or even a book idea of his own to write and was quickly shut down because he's "making them look bad." And ofc he conformed to it because they're his friends after all. And they're also his teammates. And maybe he is making them look bad. Being a book nerd doesn't exactly pair well with the leather jacket gang aesthetic they had going on.
And if he did something to damage their reputation, who knows how quickly they'd be gone.
But then there's this kinda beautiful boy/girl, and they're from the group his friends are always bullying. In fact—they're the leader of it just like he is to his own—and at first they don't seem to like him much but then a disaster happens and they're practically forced to get closer, but then they accidentally meet the true Lukas–the one who isn't heavily influenced/hidden by his friends' toxicity and superficiality and they both discover the other one is perfect for them. They're both great leaders who can be a bit arrogant at times, they work well in sync together, they show him kindness when their own friends are wary, and he realises maybe they actually get him. Maybe they won't judge him, maybe he can be less guarded around them.
So he reads in front of them for the first time. His friends would have made some kind of comment about him being a nerdy loser–probably would have told him to put it away, but Jesse doesn't.
They ask him about it. And granted it's in a manner of practicality, there's a potential world ending threat they have to take care of after all, any small amount of info could help, but they aren't looking down on him.
And when enough time's passed, when the threat's been dealt with–when his old teammates are out of his life, he finally picks up a quill again.
