I need Lukesse in the adrienette pose
That's all goodbye.
Lukas Jesse and Olivia are the biggest gossipers. They won't do it maliciously about a friend but community wide stuff/stuff about people they hate and they all jump on it.
(Also Ivor joins in if he can but pretends he isn't as invested as the rest of them.)
Man I love when people draw Jesse fat sm. Gen makes me feel so much better about myself.
I wish we got to see more of Lukas's arrogant side tbh. Like ofc he's amazing as this loyal, stand up author guy, but omg I wanted to see more of him lowkey being a prick <3
Some moments where Lukas is slightly douchey (or more so just arrogant) for no particular reason for those who are interested in his character development and/or need something to refer back to (me):
There's a few interactions when you talk to Lukas for the first time after Aiden picks on Jesse n their friends and Petra comes by ("If you're cool with Petra, you're cool with us.")
Most of these responses have the same vibe to them:
"We’re going to crush you." "I don’t know if you know this, but... we’re pretty good... oh. Wait. I get it. It’s like a joke, right?" "No, I'm serious. We're going to destroy you." "Ha! Y'know, you're really funny. That's awesome. Hey, good luck."
or even:
"May the best team win." "Careful what you wish for."
And even when we directly tell Lukas that Aiden needs to learn to be nicer, he does dismiss it with things that people often say when someone calls out bullying. ("He's just trying to get in your head...")
Even when you (optionally) talk to him later, if you lost and choose to say, "we would have beat you", you get the following interaction:
"We both know that if Aiden hadn't done what he did, my team would've won." "Uh, what we ACTUALLY both know is that my team had the stronger design ..."
He will admit what happened isn't something he supports or endorses, but he does enjoy bragging rights and seems to view this all as a playful rivalry rather than a hostile one(?)
One interaction I always found particularly interesting, though...
"You know, that stunt your friend pulled really hurt my pig." "Okay, maybe, but I had nothing to do with that."
Technically, yes, Lukas is correct in his statement here. Lukas didn't have anything to do with Aiden getting jealous and setting Reuben on fire. But that statement, combined with the dismissiveness of Aiden's behaviour? it feels somewhat. defensive? especially because Jesse never says it was Lukas' fault; meaning it's very much Lukas trying to justify the situation and tell himself "It's not my problem.", even if it's rather obvious to others that he is complicit.
also honourable mention when you go back to Ivor's hideout to get Lukas and when he asks Jesse for any ideas on what to do and you don't say anything:
"I guess I could get used to living in a chest. At least I'd probably starve to death before getting tired of the view."
Also even as a kid there was one exchange Axel and Lukas have in the nether that always entertained me:
"Your throat's going to be sore later, Axel." "Why?" "I'm just saying, I mean... wasn't that you doing all that screaming before? Sounded like you were really shredding your larynx."
there's probably almost definitely more, but these are the ones a could think of (all found in ep1)
Also if Lukas leaves the hut/treehouse, there's a comment from Axel stating:
"Add up all the times he was a jerk to us, and this doesn't compare."
Obviously we don't actually know if this is the case, especially with how volatile Axel can get when it comes to those he feels threatens his friends' safety; we don't exactly get too much of an idea how Lukas was pre-s1, but it could very well be the truth. Jusstt smth to think ab. I don't remember the original point of this post so I'm going to bed now.
This!! We don't see too much of his arrogant side so it makes sense the fandom kinda forgets about it, but it'd be nice if we'd gotten a more in depth look to the history of Jesse's team and the ocelots, cuz it would've backed up Axel's part in the hut/tree house argument a lot more too.
Yes!!! A big issue with Axel that people have is his hostile nature towards Lukas; if we had been shown more of Lukas' arrogance/rudeness, it would have made the situation from Axel's perspective more understandable. Of course there's the general consensus that Axel went too far in this specific scene, but had we been shown Lukas' past behaviour towards the treehouse gang, maybe more people would have sympathised with him.
Exactly!! Like I think Axel hit a few unnecessary low blows (kinda insulting Lukas's friends when Lukas doesn't even know if they're alive currently 😭) but that aside I don't blame him for being kinda bitter towards Lukas–especially when we see Lukas brushing Aiden's bullying to the side at the building competition and and potentially being generally rude to Jesse too. And I don't resent Lukas for this cuz it was necessary for his character to develop, but him being the morally superior of the ocelots doesn't mean he wasn't rude in his own way before either.

Lukas is the small spoon btw.
some small wbf doods
( purple ivor drawn by @/phonification )
Have I ever told yall about my addiction to post s1 ep7 lukas angst btw
It's really funny how Lukas goes from S1 eps 1-4 being like: "oooh my friends...ooh they might be in danger. I worry for them so much! I need to find them and make sure they're okay!" To episode 5 being like: "OMG FUCKKK THOSE BITCHES I HOPE THEY ALL GET PUBLICLY EXECUTEDDD I HATE THEMMM. AIDEN? NEVER HEARD OF HIM." but it's also just like how trapped did he feel in that friendship to feel obligated to go after them in the witherstorm? And how co-dependent was he with the other ocelots for it to take attempted murder on him, or his bf/gf and a city founder to finally break it I wanna explore that lore so bad...

( tw ; fanfiction / writing dump based on this post )
Omg I love this!! I really like the idea of Lukas having not really ever dated/or only having dated very limitedly in the past before Jesse. Also him being skittish about it cuz he literally doesnt know how to handle it and hes scared of messing it up 🥺
I love how well Lukas becoming a writer was foreshadowed.
Tl;dr: massive yap about Lukas's backstory and relationship with reading/writing;
Another thing about Lukas is while he puts up a front of being arrogant and cool, he seems to have a lot of deeper issues with people pleasing.
I may turn this into a fic...
can i eerm. reblog your “touch starved lukas” post with a drabble i wrote based off it? it’s okay if not.
Yeah ofc!! I'd like to see :]
when you talk shit about drug addicts who aren’t “functioning members of society” you are talking shit about disabled people. this is not up for debate.
happy disability pride month to addicts
Who's more likely to have BPD Jesse or Lukas...
Need more pre-character development Jesskas/Lukesse...
Obv I love the healthy and supportive couple they are in canon now but omg there's so much potential pre-witherstorm and stuff. Jesse HATED his arrogant leather jacket wearing ass sm and Lukas was trying so hard to keep up the "I'm better than you" cool guy persona and ahhhh
Chat should I get a minecraft ocelot plushie just to be more Lukas coded?
