I don’t talk much about cookie run on Tumblr because while it’s great for updates and headcanons here, It’s annoying that some people are saying everything Devsisters does is racist or anything like that--and i don’t use tumblr
so here’s a lil smug boi. just looking at him you can see he’s based off of a genie or djinn
apparently people are saying that’s racist or stereotyping. but cookies based off of myths and folklores are nothing new in cookie run-- Look at Kumiho, one of the early cookies--she’s based on a Korean folklore
and peach cookie-- both of them are from the original LINE cookie run. She’s clearly chinese-themed along with the new Plum cookie. they even have the chinese martial arts themes and all
I actually left the fandom while Plum and Peach were out on Ovenbreak-- Do people have a discourse about them like they do with Yogurt Cream and soon, Lilac cookie? I actually don’t know. If there isn’t and Plum and Peach were not considered offensive then why should we call Yogurt Cream offensive? They were chinese themed like how Yogurt was middle eastern themed.
Even some of the stages are themed--I remember there being an Egyptian-themed stage. Devsisters clearly put lots of love and care into their game and none of the designs are did with bad intentions or insulting the cultures they’re based on
Devsisters also listens to their fanbase but I really hope they would never listen to some people here. that would just be limiting their creativities
I’m like, thinking about a naked cookie. 100% dough. no clothes = no themes. no themes= not “offensive”
Or is there some double standards for male and female cookies? new male ones gets bashed a lot haha but I don’t think that’s the reason
