"Oh, Viv, please. He's so clearly obsessed with you." Robyn argued with a roll of his eyes, leaning back into the bench.
"You, out of all people, want to tell me something about that? How long did it take for you to realise Micah's in love with you, again?" she shot back teasingly.
Robyn exclaimed an "ey!" in feigned offense and nudged Vivian's shoulder playfully before pushing the conversation back to her and her new boyfriend.
The loud laughter and music of the wedding party drummed into their backs, the colourful wooden bench trembling lightly beneath them. They didn't mind that, though. They hadn't escaped the festivities for silence, but for the fresh breath of clean air. Vivian's shoes laid carelessly on the ground, and her feet rested on the bench as she pressed her knees to her chest. Her magically heated hands massaged them gently to give a welcome reset. Robyn was sitting next to her, cross-legged. He too had sighed in relief when he took the weight and heels off his feet. The happiest day of his life did come with small unpleasantries, it seems. But, he figured, they were worth it.
"There ye are."
Robyn perked his head up as that familiar deep voice rang in his ears. His eyes immediately fixed on the tall and broad silhouette peeping around the corner.
"Did I get lost?" he asked, tilting his head, amused.
"To me, aye. I was looking all over." Micah stepped closer and sat down on the armrest next to Robyn. His hand automatically reached for Robyn's and tightly enclosed it. The cool metal on Robyn’s ring finger a nice new sensation.
