Something about how Deadlights are literally the true nature of It and Its pure true form, and therefore their pronouns in this case are literally They/Their pleasantly tickles my brain the more I think about it. Unfortunately, the book never talks about them in this way, the movies and the series (although in the series all of that, after all, revealed better! And I love Andy for that!) are mostly tied to the clown, and the clown is he/him, just like Maturin's words about "brother." Not to mention that we constantly argue about whether it's "She" or "He," even though the character is literally glowing balls.... yeah.. Deadlights, the character you are.
