Not really my thing. But Michael Chabon loves it, so...
As big as you could wish for from the get-go. And this was their debut album.
I liked this. Grandeur with some poppy sweetness.
A welcome slab of epic, overblown fun.
Lush guitar. Big Sound. Epic Feel.
Through my friend Richard. Beats to live by.
Reinforces the marvel in the original music, rejoices in that music, and celebrates it with an expansive, inclusive generosity.
This blew me away. Propulsive history brought to life with head and heart.
So beautiful
all the bleeps.
I love the contrast between vibrant music and low-key vocals. Quirky. I look forward to coming back to it.
Tender, beautiful, heartbreaking, open statement. Can hardly stand how jaded-hopeful this is.
I could not add to what has been said.
I like this, love, in a really uncomplicated way.
Same mix of stirring and forgettable as 21. But leans more to the latter, I fear.
I shied away from this for a long time. (Too much of a known?) Lush and lovely. All heartbreaking.
Poppier than I wanted. ‘Stale by Noon’ is a marvel, though.
A delight of strong melodies and harmonies.
