Most Rated returns to The Troubadour to host a live acoustic showcase on the 6th of November, presenting the best singer-songwriters from London and the Netherlands.

MICHAEL PRINS As the winner of Holland's Best singer-songwriter competition 2013, Michael Prins represents the best of The Netherlands its eclectic new music scene. He started his career at a young age, but made his big break through by recently winning the national televised competition The Best Singer-Songwriter, performinghisown brand of Dutch folk music in front of millions of people. Michael Prins will make his way over to London introducing you to his Rivertown Fairytales.

Supporting Michael Prins at The Troubadour will be a fantastic line-up of London based musicians and song-writers. Featuring the talents of Tallulah Rendall, Yngve and Aidan Parle.

Tallulah Rendall Tallulah Rendall’s music is a unique blend of rock tinged with some folk influences. Over the years she has performed with key figures in the music industry including Jools Holland and Shirley Bassey. Following her UK and German tour, she will make a rare appearance at the Troubadour to perform her new material including her single 'Canary'.

Yngve Wieland Following his Most Rated sponsored appearance at Altersonic New Music festival earlier this year, the Most Rated ‘Hall of Fame’ member and singer-songwriter Yngve Wieland will bring influences of American folk, blues, and country music as well as the boom era of rock & roll. 

Aidan Parle After opening our first ever new music showcase, Aidan Parle has consistently been at the top of Most Rated's new music buzz chart. Never failing to impress live, Aidan Parle is known for his rich vocal tones, clever lyrics and the ability to write exceptionally catchy tunes. He will perform with his new three-piece ensemble 'Carnival Red'.

Most Rated is a new monthly music showcase that believes that more must be done to help new music get noticed. We promote new music acts, organised around the local music scene, to play at our monthly events.

We are happy to announce the Dutch band A name for the moon is coming to the UK for a mini tour with Most Rated this November. The band will play at Sticky Mike's Frog Bar in Brighton on the 5th of November and will play at 229 The Venue on the 7th of November.

Rockacademie students - how to sign up

THE UK-PROJECT.

Jij kan optreden in de UK. Schrijf je nu in, en reis af voor twee shows in London en Brighton.

Meld je nu aan! Aanmelden doe je door een account op mostrated.com aan te maken. Onder het kopje ‘Your Group’ is er een veld ‘Booking contact name’, waarbij je ‘RACEM’ invult, zodat de organisatie weet dat het om een Rockacademie band gaat. Vervolgens vul je bij ‘Booking contact telephone’ wel het nummer in van de contactpersoon van de band. Tot slot stuur je een mailtje naar Racem Bookings ([email protected]) om ons te laten weten dat jouw band zich heeft ingeschreven.

Uit alle inzendingen worden 3 bands gekozen die op 3 oktober in het Tilburgse Cul de Sac zullen strijden om de uitverkoren band te worden. Om je te kunnen inschrijven heb je representatief audiomateriaal nodig. De band mag maximaal uit 6 personen bestaan en het merendeel moet Rockacademiestudent zijn. We verwachten een goede persfoto, een Engelse biografie en niet te vergeten: 40 minuten overtuigend repertoire. Daarnaast is het belangrijk dat alle bandleden reis- en instrumentariumverzekeringen hebben en op 3 oktober en 6 t/m 9 november beschikbaar zijn.

De deadline voor het aanmelden is 22 september, dus wees er snel bij!

ACM students - how to sign-up

Do you want to play in London and The Netherlands?

Do you want to play a show in London, and get the opportunity to tour through the Netherlands? On Thursday 7th of November Most Rated will host an international student showcase night, in cooperation with the Dutch Rockacademie. You can play during this special night and by doing that you get the chance to tour in the Netherlands. Sign-up now!

We will select eight bands by 14th of October and the final music pitch will be on Thursday 17th of October. Upload you music now!

What do you have to do? Create an account on mostrated.com. You will find you have to fill out ‘Booking Contact Name’ there you mention ACM, so we know you are an ACM band. At the booking contact telephone do fill out the number we can call when we select you.

After uploading your music, you need people to rate you. The more ratings you the get, the greater your chance that you will be touring the Netherlands this January.

On Tuesday 5th of November and Thursday 7th of November, we will host an international student showcase tour. The Most Rated student band from an esteemed Dutch contemporary music college, the Rockacademie from The Netherlands, will make their way over to the UK to perform a one week tour in London and Brighton. Supporting the Rockacademie bands will be a line-up of student acts from the Academy of Contemporary Music from Guildford, UK. The tour will help promote new upcoming music acts, and the Most Rated UK student act will play a gig-swap over in Holland in the New Year. One lucky student band from The Netherlands will upload their music on mostrated.com, where the audience can rate them. The three Most Rated bands will be invited to showcase their music at a prestigious showcase gig in The Netherlands, and the most popular as selected by our listeners will embark on a two-date tour in the UK. They will be joined by three ACM student acts who are Most Rated on the London roster.

Aidan Parle Top of the August charts will join Michael Prins during the Most Rated showcase November 6. The London based singer-songwriter will perform on stage at the Troubadour during our international singer-songwriter showcase event.

Aidan Parle’s songs have range; from comedy to tragedy; from the struggles of a nation to the sorrows of a single heart. It’s all there in true social commentary. Michael Prins can proudly say he is the best singer songwriter of The Netherlands. Tonight, on monday July 29, the 2013 best singer songwriter winner was announced during the tv-show ‘De Beste Singer Songwriter’. The last eight weeks have been a thrilling ride for all the finalist. Working toward this point, who may call themselves the best singer songwriter of Holland.

  Michael’s has always been surrounded by creativity and musicality, which might have led him to where he is now. Dropped out of school at 15, started to work at his father’s art gallery and spending as much time as possible on his music. Hoping to one day perform at Glastonbury. With winning this esteemed price, Prins gets to play at Lowlands, Sziget and perform on our London showcase stage in November.

Introducing the DBSSW finalists

Lucas Hamming Self-proclaimed ‘singer-stonerockwriter’ Lucas has been around for awhile now. He already made it to some of the bigger stages in The Netherlands and wrote his first the soundtrack for the film ‘Lover or Loser’. He has his aims set high, hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jeff Buckley and Alex Turner.

Michael Prins Michael’s has always been surrounded by creativity and musicality, which might have led him to where he is now. Dropped out of school at age 15, started to work at his father’s art gallery and spending as much time as possible on his music. Hoping to one day perform at Glastonbury.

Démira Jansen British folk songs and a very remarkable Irish accent makes you wonder if Demira is actually Dutch. Age sixteen this girl has a long career in front of her, maybe one day on stage with her idol Markus Mumford.

Judy Blank Primary school teacher Judy knows what she wants, at age 13 the she decided to get piano lessons and found a local piano teacher by herself. Soon after, she wrote her own tunes and added lyrics in - as she calls - ‘sand-box’ English. Who knows what live after DBSSW might bring.

Jasper Mook The tattoos and piercings are very misleading. Jasper is nothing close to sex drugs and rock an roll. He writes sensitive pop songs and when money gets tight he grabs his guitar, gets out too the street and makes music for all to hear. He’s dream is for music to get him around the world.

Maaike Ouboter She never really considered a career in Music, till she got the call to join the 'Best singer songwriter' from The Netherlands. She used to write a lot in English, but recently discovered that through Dutch she was able to express herself better. With one hit song already, what does the future have in store for Maaike.

Most Rated Showcase welcomes the best singer songwriter of Holland

Dutch national radio station 3FM and radio host Giel Beelen are searching for the best singer songwriter of the Netherlands.

The last eight weeks the contestants have been put to the test with duets, covers and of course their own work. Judged by top Dutch music professionals, only six singer songwriters are left to battle it out in the finale this Monday.

The winner gets the amazing opportunity to fly over to London and showcase their songs during the Most Rated showcase in November.

Samen met een team van professionals bepaalt 3FM radio-host Giel Beelen welke singer-songwriter er met de titel 'De Beste Singer-Songwriter van Nederland' vandoor gaat.

De deelnemers hebben zich in acht shows moeten bewijzen door middel van duetten, covers en natuurlijk hun eigen nummers. Deze maandag wordt de winnaar gekozen uit de zes overgebleven kandidaten.

De winnaar krijgt de geweldige kans om in november af te reizen naar London, om deel te nemen aan de Most Rated showcase waar hij/zij het podium deelt met locale muzikanten.
