Bloomberg. Love him.
So, in short, the master plan is: - Build sports car - Use that money to build an affordable car - Use that money to build an even more affordable car - While doing above, also provide zero emission electric power generation options Don't tell anyone.

David Undercoffler on Teslaâs plans to debut a cheaper model in early 2015:
The newest model debuting in 2015 will be the third step, as its platform will differ significantly from anything else Tesla has built so far.
The plan for a mainstream model follows a strategy that Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk laid out in a 2006 blog post.
âThe strategy of Tesla is to enter at the high end of the market, where customers are prepared to pay a premium,â Musk wrote in a post titled âThe Secret Tesla Motors Master Plan (just between you and me).â âThen drive down market as fast as possible to higher unit volume and lower prices with each successive model.â
That post, written nearly eight years ago, laid out exactly what Tesla aimed to do.
In the world of startups, eight years seems like an eternity. Itâs hard enough to think one year out, let alone a decade. Yet in the automotive industry, eight years seems like nothing. Very little used to change in that span.Â
Itâs amazing not only how far Tesla has come in the past eight years, but just how well theyâve been able to execute on that original plan.Â
Tesla and Musk. I love watching the story unfold.
Jailbroken. Lots of great iOS 7 tweaks that make the daily experience more enjoyable and more functional.
Goodbye verizon. It's been a fun 1.5 years. Hello AT&T again. Did you miss me? We're back!

Kwikset Kevo - Short Review
After waiting 1.5 years for lockitron, i finally asked for a refund - researched a lot and went for the Kwikset Kevo. It's a bit expensive compared to the lockitron but I think it's worth it. It was easy to install. I've installed a few locks before and so it only took about 15 minutes. The pairing with the phones and key fobs were quite easy. The fobs will only be used for the android people in my life since they don't have an android app yet and even when they do it will only work with phones that have Bluetooth LE. One of my favorite parts of the install was the smart key. Before the kevo we had a regular kwikset deadbolt that I got about 6 months ago. Back when I got it I made color keys for my wife and I and a few others so we can easily find it on our key chains. I didn't want to have to make new keys all over again. The smart key lets you take your compatible kwikset key from a previous lock and make it work with the new lock really easily. It took longer to read the directions then it did to set the old key up with the new lock. So in the event of the Bluetooth not working or a dead phone we still have the same old keys in our pocket that will work fine. So far the unlocking and locking worked every time for me. I've only done it about 20 times in testing but it worked.
I love that I get to see a history of who locked or unlocked the door. I can also set up which users I want to get notifications from. Interestingly the lock doesn't send the notifications to me. Instead the phone that was used to unlock the door actually sends the notification. That means that key fobs don't send notifications. I've read that wifi is already built in to the kevo and will be activated in a future firmware update. At that point key fob notifications would work. I wish it were easier to lock / unlock door from inside the house. All this cool technology and I still can't press a button from the inside to have it lock. I also wish the lock would auto lock after 30 seconds (option via dip switch). I know some of the other electronic kwikset locks have that feature. One more big wish - that I could see if the door is locked or not from the app - and toggle the lock from anywhere on the go. And on to the most annoying feature. When unlocking - your phone vibrates or makes a noise letting you know it worked. What did they choose for the audio alert? The default iOS mail alert. Im going to install one in my office this week and let my employees start using it. After that if it works well I'm going to start rolling it out for my clients.
Testing out the kevo.

Michael Barbaro and Kitty Bennett:
An analysis by The New York Times shows that Mr. Bloomberg has doled out at least $650 million on a wide variety of perks and bonuses, political campaigns and advocacy work, charitable giving and social causes, not to mention travel and lodging, connected to his time and role as mayor. (His estimated tab for a multiday trip to China, with aides and security in tow: $500,000.)
In the process, he has entirely upended the financial dynamics surrounding New Yorkâs top job.
In the past, the city paid its mayor; Mr. Bloomberg paid to be the cityâs mayor.
This angle isnât new, but it puts an actual number on what Bloomberg has done â which is pretty spectacular. As weird as it sounds, itâs more like a king spending to improve his kingdom than any modern political story weâre used to.
In many ways, itâs too bad that yesterday was his last day in office. It seems unlikely weâre going to see another politician like that in a long time simply because very few people on this planet have both the desire and the resources of Bloomberg. And fewer still would put them to good use.
Crazy.
Bill Gates:
Child mortality went downâagain. One of the yearly reports I keep an eye out for is âLevels and Trends in Child Mortality.â The title doesnât sound especially uplifting, but the 2013 report shows amazing progressâfor example, half as many children died in 2012 as in 1990. Thatâs the biggest decline ever recorded. And hardly anyone knows about it!
Any way you slice it, thatâs insanely good news. The poverty rate numbers are pretty striking as well.
