My Mother’s Day present. Kid A and Kid B have not always followed the crowd much. They aren’t into the popular interests like soccer, baseball or even gymnastics. I seriously grieved when I realized I wasn’t getting a figure skater or hockey player out of either of them. I was super happy when Kid A decided she loved horseback riding (my pocket book not so much but at least I don’t also have the skating to contend with). But nothing really sparked both kids interest until we did climbing camp this summer- despite their whining and complaining that day camp is boring. I’m still committed to skiing this winter but it’s slowly looking like I need to plan a trip somewhere with big rocks. This rental scooter has been sitting in front of our house since the weekend and the company hasn’t retrieved it, and evidently nobody in the hood has needed the transportation. I think it’s mocking me though, challenging me to ditch my Uber and join the wild side. I see you scooter and just know, when the time is right I will accept your Gen Z challenge, Gen X does not shy away from danger, we survived despite the lack of safety rules and protocols and no little electric scooter will challenge me and win.
