To clarify because I saw a few people wondering, SynthV works exactly the same as Vocaloid (and other big commercial engines that have been around a while, like CeVIO AI/VoiSona) where the voice providers consent to their voices being used and are financially compensated for it, and there are precautions in place like terms of service users must agree to to use the vocals, but the vps are aware of what they're getting into when they sign up. SynthV was making AI vocals a while before the popularity boom of unethical AI; they're totally separate things.

If Native folks are making it to sell to white people with the approval of their tribe, it’s not “appropriation”–its support and appreciation!
