(Eli pauses for a second, looking like she has a question she's unsure she can ask)

well first off, never feel like you have to see me as your dad. That's your choice and I'll accept any decision you make. You can just call me intern! Though, Mr. Bunny is also pretty cool!

(Eli pulls out her notepad and starts writing while waiting)
[after having to find a chair to stand in, he came back with a mountain of blankets and pillows]

Yeah! I want it to be a new record! Last time Uncle Ember made these cute lanterns with his glass-blowing skills, and they were really cute in my fort!
oh wow! Well I can't be that cool, but, uhh... oh I know!
[He grabs some felt and cotton balls and quickly made her a little bunny guy]
Look, now we have soldiers to protect the fort!
(Eli's eyes light up with joy)
Omg! They're perfect! I love them so much! Thank you, Mr. Bunny!
(She gives the soldier and Intern a big hug)
[intern just smiles and pats her head]

(Eli pauses and smiles)

[Intern had to look away, trying not to cry]

[okay, he was full on crying now]

[Intern just nodded, knowing that if he hurt this child he would die]

Pinky promise! Those are the strongest, is what Dad tells me! He takes them super seriously! I see him do it with Uncle Ember and his other friends sometimes when something serious happens...Oh, and thank you for promising...it means a lot to me, Papa! So, I wanna give you this!
(She gets a card from her bag; it's pink with red hearts all over it, and it has the text "Eli Approved!")
Dad gave me these and told me only to give them to people I trust, so if Dad has one of his "crazy moments," you can show it to him, and he won't hurt you. Do you know about those times? If not, I should probably warn you about them...

Crazy moments?
Yeah, Dad has these moments where, as he says, "he's not in his right mindset," so he goes on a little rampage. He can't really think or control himself in it.
I've only seen it once, and it was...a lot. Dad cried afterwards, not because he was hurt, which he was, but because I saw it. He kept saying sorry, and I stayed with Mom a bit longer that time...
Dad once told me that when he's in that mindset, all he can really do is watch what's happening, like he knows it's happening and what he's doing, but he can't do anything about it.
It happens when Dad starts feeling a bit lonely; that's why Uncle Ember and Dad live together.
But sometimes Uncle Ember gets busy with his life.
Dad told me he can only feel love, not happiness, sadness, regret, or anything else. He just fakes those emotions so no one else realises. He's really good at acting.
I also heard Uncle Ember talking to someone on the phone about Dad. Says he obsesses over love, which I'm pretty sure is because he can only feel love, so he obsesses over it. Like how I really like my princess dresses, so I obsess over them.
[intern nods along, listening fully]
I see. Well thank you for telling me, sweetheart... imma make you one more promise, okay?
I promise that when your father gets like that, I'll keep him safe, okay? I'll be his knight too... because I can kinda understand him
...Okay, thank you for helping Dad. But you can also help prevent them.
oh? How so, princess?
Well, Dad only feels love, so he obsesses over it. So I figured out that the reason he gets crazy isn't cause he's lonely, but cause he doesn't feel love.
That's why Dad likes having lots of lovers. Because he feels more love and can love them more. He likes surrounding himself with it because it decreases the chance of his crazies.
So basically, as long as he feels loved, he'll be okay!
I figured that out because it usually never happens around me when I love him, because he's the best dad ever, and the one time it did happen around me, I heard Mom saying mean stuff to Dad.
And usually Uncle Ember always tells me sorry. He says he's sorry Dad went crazy, and I figured out what he meant. He's saying sorry he made Dad feel unloved.
