on the weekend i took a motorcycle skills upgrade class to get better at maneuvering in tight situations. 100% worth it, especially riding in a city where people drive without a thought to others on the road and/or would rather keep using their phones while driving/ at red lights than not potentially kill someone. definitely doing this again.

here, @ira_cox i risked public mortification just for you. i keed, i keed. i only felt 37% embarrassed. anyway, i’m really happy with my add-ons. today i added an engine guard. i’ve mounted mostly everything i want xena to have this summer minus a few things. i also feel good about doing it myself without recruiting the manfriend to help, especially since he gets how much this moto means to me. these small victories kinda help ease my generally gloomy vibe as of late. #notforthecoolkids #cmx500

my @dartflyscreens came in the mail yesterday so today i installed it on xena because i’m tired of feeling like i’ve gone multiple rounds with the wind every time i ride into it. i’m really impressed that such a small screen takes so much wind off my chest. also, don’t judge me for taking pictures of it at my parking spot, i get really embarrassed taking moto pics when i’m riding solo around the city because well, vancouver. 🤷🏾‍♀️

i love this woman. ironically, she’s one of the rad friends i’ve made because of motorcycles. but i know what she’s speaking of and that’s why everything i’ve ever done moto wise has always been and forever will be not for the cool kids. 💜

today is my old man’s birthday. sure, i’m actually older than him, but whateves. anyway almost 8 years of good time, bad times, great times with this guy and i’m sure as heck glad he was born. ❤️

looking for advice...

i have a friend who’s an artist but since art is subjective, i find their work to be terrible. i still want this person to do well and i do hope people buy their stuff but i strongly dislike everything they put out.

the issue is, because they post their stuff on instagram, it shows up on my feed every few posts. i thought that by not engaging and not “liking” their stuff, i would stop seeing it, but nope. it’s even worse now and i’ve been disengaged for months. i don’t want to unfollow them because there will no doubt be seriously hurt feelings, but how do i stop seeing really bad art and missing out on posts from friends i actually want to see? on facebook, i can just stop seeing certain stuff on my feed, but with IG, you only see content from a tiny portion of people you follow and somehow the stupid algorithm thinks i want to keep seeing this person’s stuff. i kinda really truly hate their art.

what do i do? what would you do if you were in this situation?

such an incredible feeling being on the bike you’re meant to be on versus the bike everyone thinks you should be on. xena the ninja will always have a soft spot in my heart but i can already tell XENA THE REBEL and i- we’re soul mates. big love to @thrasherbill for riding with me to vancouver then riding two up back to langley so that i could grab my car.
