( ROSAMUND PIKE, CISFEMALE, SHE/HER ) Way out here in The Ozarks, I’d never expect to find DIANA COLLINS, the THIRTY-EIGHT year old SECRETARY at the TOWN HALL. On the afternoon of September 4th, SHE was AT WORK but I’m not sure I believe a word they say.
under the read more is a little bit of info about diana. feel free to come to me for plots ( i want them all! ) & don’t hesitate to ask for my disc-rd name if you’d rather chat there!
trigger warning for STILL BIRTH.
full name: diana margaret collins.
age: thirty-eight.
birthday: february 16th 1939.
birthplace: veritas, missouri.
occupation: secretary to the mayor.
gender: female.
orientation: heteroromantic heterosexual.
born into a happy family in veritas, diana is one of four children. two boys, two girls. she had a typical childhood, and was definitely the quieter one in the collins family. she mostly had her head in a book growing up and excelled at her studies, much to the pride of her mother and father.
she’s always had a fascination with art. she was a creative child, always drawing or painting. throughout her childhood and adolescence, she filled up countless sketch pads with her creations, but she never even considered the thought of pursuing it professionally. she grew up in a time when a women working outside of the home wasn’t common.
diana did well in school, but never went to university. her goal was to be a homemaker, have a husband and a family. she was traditional. she ended up engaged to her high school sweetheart a few years after graduation and was pregnant with their first child. she gave birth at 8 months, but unfortunately, the baby, a little boy, was stillborn. this obviously broke diana’s heart. her relationship didn’t last long after that. in a way, she felt as though she failed him.
from then on, she decided to throw herself into the workforce. maybe that would rid her of her sadness, or at least distract herself from it. she began work as a shop assistant, before becoming a typist at the local doctor’s office. she stayed there for 6 years before getting a job at the mayor’s office as his secretary.
meeting alexander shepherd was a game changer for her. she admired him immensely, and there had always been an attraction there. they eventually began dating, and ever since they started a relationship, she’s been elated. feeling whole again, in a way. they have yet to make their relationship known, and since the passing of his daughter, it’s been put off. obviously diana wants to be open about it, she doesn’t want to rush alexander. she’s completely understanding of everything going on.
personality wise, diana is an absolute sweetheart. she is a little reserved, but she’s loyal, affectionate and has a heart of gold. she would do anything for anyone, even strangers. she sees the good in everyone, which can be a blessing, but also a curse.
it certainly wasn't a slow news week. things had been difficult to say the least and dalia seemed to be pushing harder than usual to get things out faster. michael was tired . he was weary , but most of all… he was kind of fucking scared . his hand ran over his face as he sat in big joe's diner, waiting for his food. he didn't notice the person that had slipped into the booth across from him until his hand hit the table. he gave the best smile he could muster (admittedly, a pretty good one), and nodded. “Fancy meeting you here,” he smiled. “I'd offer to buy you a drink, but i think we're at the wrong place,” he laughed.
the beginning of the week was always busy at the mayor’s office, often leaving diana at the end of the day in dire need of a rest, especially with everything going on in town at the current time, the majority of veritas’ residents were left reeling. at least once a week, the blonde stopped by big joe’s diner after work for a coffee (the best in town) and to gather her thoughts before starting the cycle all over again the following day. most of the time, she ran into people she knew, so it wasn’t a surprise when the the local news anchor sparked up a conversation with her. she’d come to know the media rather well since taking up the job at the town hall. “oh, yes. great minds think alike, i suppose.” she chuckled, a small smile tugging at her lips. “how kind of you. as tempting as a tipple is right now, i think i’ll stick to my cappuccino. how are you, though? i take it you’ve had a hectic day?”
