I've been tinkering with this Json basecode at least 2 hours every day for over a month. (Sometimes all day lmao) so I've been taking a few days off from any code whatsoever.

I plan to test it on my own blog and then release it for use before June 20th. I'll once again be volunteering at Roskilde Festival and will be offline 22nd June - July 8th. I'm taking a leader role this year so I've had quite a bit of prep and getting used to it.

I'm also doing a fun CSS course for JS devs in August, which I'm sure will benefit me on here as well.

..... well, an earthquake happened in Denmark today, and I was not far off from the center. wayyy bigger than the one I experienced in 2008 or or something. anywho!

I spent the entire afternoon and evening working out how to make /pages render in both preview and live blog, and ALSO retain user added classes like:

tumblr json kept stripping and/or not showing content on either live or preview blog. I settled on a template tag and it works. 🥲👌 more under the cut and github link

11 months ago I ventured into the indie web and found 11ty and Astro later and I would not have been able to do half of what I do today! I am trying to keep it super versatile and basically only focus on post blocks and content. the user-header and post-content gets populated from npf_data and pages gets content from page_body_raw's template through buildPageFallback function, excluding submit/ask page. classes on html node will be a mandatory thing lol.

not to brag but my new basecode is so fucking fast. your gif heavy blogs, will love me. this is so exciting. tumblr are lil shits and dumps a lot of useless 2016 code into our themes, but i will be damned if i have not cut 60% of the load time.
