first walk into the upside down for mike and he's freaking out because no one else seems to mind the particles, the slimy surfaces and ever moving vines creeping on the ground except for will, whom he can see minutely shaking, so he glues himself to will's side.

will notices mike's ragged breath as mike falls into step with him, and he lets the back of his hand brush against mike's. that's when mike grabs will's hand thinking, but i can still keep will from freaking out, and will hides a smile, watching as mike's breath slowly gets under control.

If my name was Will Byers, a sweet and beautiful doe-eyed boy who’s been going through unspeakable horrors and humiliations for years, all while secretly harbouring a soul-crushing love for my best friend… Watching all my friends go with the flow through teenagehood, feelings and relationships while my own feelings are being shamed and used against me by multidimensional monsters, to the point where I had to come out to a room full of people who had absolutely no business knowing MY business.

Anyway, if I were this Will Byers and saw this shit, you can be assured I’m turning that clock right back to S4 and saying, “No thanks, I’m staying in Cali, babes.”

Ain’t nothing worthwhile waiting for me in the place that has hated my guts since forever. Nor do I have any reason to be homeless and tiptoeing around your homophobic father, Mike, or indulging sorcerer role-play for your kinky closeted ass, or letting Vecna purr in my face again. I’ll apparently be only as good as the trauma porn some twin trolls write for me anyway.

In front of the others, but he doesn’t even notice their reactions. And his expression throughout the whole thing is like stone-faced because he’s so used to having to do this and guyssss

*Scenario*

Mike and Lucas hanging out at Lucas’s house during the time skip, and mike keeps sniffing his shirt. It becomes so excessive Lucas sarcastically asks him if the reason he keeps sniffing it is because he stinks, causing Mike to roll his eyes at him.

Later, they move their hang out to Mike’s basement, and when they reach the basement they see Will, looking like he’s searching for something. when he notices their presence, he goes “hi guys- oh there’s my shirt” while ooking at Mike. Mike immediately goes red and starts apologising, saying how “all of his clothes are dirty” to which an amused Will responds “it’s okay Mike :) I just didn’t know where it is”. Lucas is suspiciously quiet during this entire ordeal, and when Mike turns to him, he sees him looking at him like this:
