I think the biggest indicator that sequels weren’t the success disney wanted is how everything else has just been nostalgia bait for people who grew up with the original and prequel movies plus the clone wars cartoons. They genuinely do not give a fuck what happens after episode 9 and barely have expanded upon what happened during the sequel trilogy cause there’s nothing there.

masters of the universe was kind of good but I can also see why it did poorly at the box office while horror movies like obsession and and backrooms did. it’s just not a time for feel good summer blockbusters and he-man as a property has been fighting to retain even a shred of cultural relevance outside of a cartoon for annoying adult children and a 20 year old meme (which was fucking referenced in the first thirty minutes much to my chagrin.) will it get a sequel like it’s teased? Probably not but I don’t think it really needs one. I just wish we got more science fantasy stuff in general lol

no but listen, you don’t understand the implications. A prime Toji got dusted by a recently enlightened Gojo. Disaster Curses are among some of the strongest curses in existence. Toji beats one of them no problem like it’s child play in its own domain. I don’t really understand why we’re having this argument
