SANDTIGER SHARK FACT TIME!!!
I'm gonna try and work out a posting schedule, to help me post regularly :)
• grow to 1.2 and 2.7 metres
• can live between 15-40 years
• lives worldwide near the seafloor in surf zones, shallow bays and coral and rocky reefs
• feed on a variety of bony fish, including hake, herring, snappers, wrasses, remoras, eels and much more
• they r denser than water and maintain buoyancy by swallowing air and holding it in their stomachs
• they r sluggish and aren't considered a threat to humans :)
• because of their coastal habitat, sand tiger sharks are overfished and experienced a 75 percent decline from 1980 to 1990 :(
• they have funky teeth
genuinely so sorry for my lack of posts :(

• their prey consists of other sharks, crustaceans, molluscs, and sea birds. larger whtie sharks will also prey on sea lions, seals, and small toothed whales like orcas
• they have 300 serrated teeth
•they can live up to 70 years
•they can smell blood from up to 5 km away
•they can sense electrical fields in the water and they are very good at this, sensing a millionth of voltage in the water
• their blood is incredibly toxic
•these sharks can jump 10 feet out of the water

THRESHER SHARK FACT TIME
• they grow to around 20 feet
•they have exceptionally long tails which are thought to whip their prey at speeds of 80 mph
•they are found in temperate, coastal and oceanic waters
•there are three species: pelagic, big eye, and thresher
•they can live from 20-50 years
•they eat schooling fish and squid
•they can jump 8-10 feet out of the water
•they are very shy to swimmers and will often swim away

•they are deep sea, open ocean sharks
•they can grow to 7 feet
•they get their name from the frilly appearance of their gills
•they swim like eels, in a serpentine fashion

•they have 300 backward facing teeth and are shaped like that to grab onto things
•no one has ever seen a frilled shark feed, but it's believed that they strike their prey similar to snakes, launching themselves at things lile cephalopods, teleost fish and other sharks
• they are found all over the world but at extreme depths- 390 to 4300 feet
•their gestation period could be nearly 4 years long
• they weren't even seen in their natural habitat until 2004 despite being discovered in the 20th century

ahh thank you so much. I completely agree, people need to realize how important sharks are and that they play huge roles in the oceanic ecosystem. I hope one day people will realize their beauty and try their best to save these animals. :)

•nurse sharks don't always need to be moving to breathe! they can lie down at the sea floor and face the flow of water and they pump water thru their mouth and gills
