Rescue || Hazel and Andy
Hazel only looked at Andy as he spoke, tears gathering in her eyes before they slowly started to roll down her cheeks. She wasn’t sure she wanted to hear what he had to say. She was conflicted, between wanting to be alone and needing company that she’d been deprived on for a while. Conflicted between wanting to talk or just ignoring everything. She had let the man’s words plague her mind, and still they were there. That no one cared, that she was useless, that she was lied to. The last of which she knew for sure was true but the rest were just circulating thoughts. “That doesn’t change the fact that no one told me.. that he was the one that told me the truth.. y-you shouldn’t even exist!”
Andy could sense the emotion from her, the fear, the confusion, the disbelief and he hated that she felt that way. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking in a deep breath. "Hazel ... it's a lot to explain. Honestly, I was afraid you wouldn't believe me. Or ... that you'd react this way." he said a little sadly, "I've only known about the hitlist for a little while, I was still trying to figure out what exactly was going on, but I was going to tell you once I found out." he added sincerely. "Look, I know how you're feeling. Um, literally. That's my gift. I'm called an Empath, I can feel other people's emotions."
