THIS COULD BE THE START OF EVERYTHING FOR YOU
If you're reading this,
the howling moon hasn't given up on you yet.
It likes to hide from the destruction,
but it reveals itself every night despite the wreckage.
It's grown difficult to believe in the morning sunlight.
How I wish you would dare to open your eyes.
You don't remember if you came here alone
only that alone you stand now.
Stop telling yourself that martyrdom is worth it,
that your burdens must remain your own.
Every decision is a cracked mirror,
showing you how you spread yourself thin,
to the point of oblivion,
just to say you're treading water.
I hope the light seeks you out,
more so when you do your best to run from it.
The place between sacrifice and wasting away
has grown dangerously delicate.
The ground shakes beneath your feet.
Stop wishing for it to crumble, and fight.
Fight for something, anything,
if it means earning another breath.
Start anywhere,
if it means crawling your way to survival.
