There are some things about myself I can't explain to anyone. There are some things I don't understand at all.

MILK AND HONEY pt.2
How can you be sure this is the right choice ? That he is the one ?
You made my life so difficult by showing up every now and then. Why won’t you stay gone ?
This day I wish to forget
I was there, sitting on this grey sofa that was way too big for one, all curled up, waiting for an answer, any at this point. It had been days, month even that you were awful, depressed. But I stayed, I stayed because I believed in us so badly at that time. I wanted you to be the one so much that I didn’t even see it coming.
Then you came down the stairs and sat beside me. Crying. You looked into my eyes and said those exact words : “ I think I’m not in love with you, I’m not even sure I ever was”.
I don’t think anyone could have hurt me more in one second. Ever. Without knowing it you became my worst nightmare, saying that I wasn’t enough for you, without even the shadow of an explanation. You ruined me that day. And for that I’ll never be able to forgive you.
“Life has taught me that you can’t control someone’s loyalty. No matter how good you are to them, doesn’t mean they’ll treat you the same. No matter how much they mean to you, doesn’t mean they’ll value you the same. Sometimes the people you love the most, turn out to be the people you can trust the least.”
— Trent Shelton (via thegoodvybe)
You have survived every moment of your life, even the ones you swore you wouldn’t. This time is no different; you will last.
Saying goodbye is always the hardest part... know I will always love you from all my heart ❤️

Those things you want to forget
I’m writing this six years after it happened. My brain mostly just blurred it out as it was too difficult to deal with. 6 years of doubt, culpability, because for everyone well if it happens to a girl she “kinda asked for it”.
So there it is. No one asks for it. There is no fucking excuse for hurting someone. None. Whatsoever. And every person is this situation should be helped not persecuted, not treated as if she was lying, almost like a criminal.
I was beaten, abused, humiliated, insulted, threatened. One night he left me on the highway without a phone or credit card. I had to walk home at 1am under the rain for 10km. Another day he attacked me with a fork then throws several bottle at my head. He threatened my family, said that he would murder me if I only dare to leave him.
The list goes on.
I was scared, petrified. Yes I should have left, I should have done so many things but the thing is when being abused you get to this point where they make you think it’s your fault. That you “deserve it”. And you’re just so use to be insulted, threatened than you don’t do anything.
I finally called the police, even registered a complaint against him at the risk of repercussions (he knew where I lived, where I went to school). He had what we call in France a “rappel a la loi”. Basically a judge just told him that he should not do it again. Knowing that, he pressured me to change my testimony, to stay with him, I even had to drive his car to the court as his driver licence was suspended. Just a few days after I thought I was finally done but when I went home he was waiting for me in front of my apartment and beat me up. Badly, but just enough so that it could be the result of a fall. He was clever like that. Never did anything that could be seen like on my face.
Things ended up only when I threatened him of going to the police again while staying at my parent’s house (which he didn’t know). This time he knew that he would have some real problems. But in the mean time everything could happen to me. For month I was looking over my shoulder each time I went home. For month I couldn’t sleep at night, scared that he would come back, I jumped each time I saw a car like his, terrified that he could be following me. That anything could happen to me.
So yes, sadly I’m not surprised that so many women still die by the hand of their husband/boyfriend, in France as in other countries.
Because the justice system is still not doing anything to protect them.
I kept it all bottled up. Then, what should have been tiny drops of rain, poured out like a river. They were inside too long. I kept them hidden, so no one would know. And I nearly drowned myself.
“These are things I want you to know. 1.You are not the boyfriend who strangled your heart and walked away from you 2.You are not the dozen of sent texts he didn’t answer after he started to realize that you weren’t the one. 3. You are not made up of the men who painted daisies on your skin, and then decided to rip you apart because you weren’t worthy anymore. 4. You are not the six whiskey shots that swim inside your bloodstream after you knew he fell in love with someone else. 5. Stop letting the boyfriend who walked away from you make up who you are. 6. It’s time for YOU to walk back into YOUR life because I haven’t see you in ages, and YOU need YOURSELF.”
— Alexa Evangelista, the book i’ll never finish writing
“It’s alright if you don’t know what your entire life’s purpose is yet. It’s okay if you’re still figuring things out. Have faith that your life will unravel itself to you in its own timing, when in which you will receive much more clarity. It will come, my friend. Try to be patient and trust the process.”
