saw someone say that jeremiah tried to convince laurel too why when conrad does it it's such a big deal?

firstly jeremiah has to convince laurel he is the groom..this wouldn't even happen if he just asked her before, second jeremiah kept bringing up what his dead mother would have wanted, or that laurel has wanted this all along i really don't think that's the right way to convince a parent who is set on their way, not to mention his entire speech weird very weird

and now onto conrad he doesn't have to do anything it's not his job or his responsibility he does it bc he can't see belly upset if jeremiah really was the responsible one he would have gone to meet laurel alone again and try to convince her and tell her that belly is upset she has been crying but instead he tells belly to stay at the summer house instead of going back bc it would prove that "laurel won"

is it really about winning or losing if your fiancé is upset? and that's the biggest difference between conrad and jeremiah

jeremiah sees everything as a competition he puts his ego and pride over anyone else

This is the difference between Conrad and Jeremiah. Jeremiah makes the Whole speech about himself. Why he needs Belly. Not about, how he's going to take care of Belly. Not about why it has to be now. Jeremiah tries to use charm, which can only get him so far.

Conrad doesn't even have to do it. He'll talk to Laurel about Belly.

The real villain of the Summer I turned pretty, is actually, Adam. Nobody else.

He cheated on Susannah when she was dealing with cancer.

He favored Conrad over Jeremiah, which gave Jeremiah an inferiority complex and insecurities, because he's trying to gain his dad's affection.

But at the same time, he's putting so much pressure on Conrad, and forces him to grow up before he's ready, forcing Conrad to become parentified.

He's not there to take care of Susannah when she's dealing with chemo and is dying, forcing her teenage sons to do it, when neither of them have the emotional maturity to do so. It should not have been up to either Conrad or Jeremiah to look after Susannah. No. That should have been Adam.

He's the reason the brothers have such a difficult relationship. It was strained before Belly.

Both brothers have issues because of him.

Jeremiah has an inferiority complex when it comes to Conrad. He's jealous of the attention Adam gives to Conrad, and project his issues with Adams onto Conrad. Belly has to walk on eggshells around Jeremiah, and gets shut down everytime she wants to talk about Conrad.

Now, Conrad isn't perfect. He's got his own problems. He tries to fix everything on his own, because he's been parentified. He thinks he's protecting Jeremiah by trying to fix everything on his own. And keep everything bottled up, because he doesn't want to be a burden. It blows of in his face, because he's not emotionally ready or mature enough to get parentified.

The fourth of July episode is actually an interesting way to showcase how Adam has damaged his sons. When they're told he's not coming, Jeremiah is disappointed, but Conrad's is happy. He's actively enjoying himself. Having a great time with everyone. He's smiling and opening up. Everyone has a great time. And then Adam shows up. Conrad goes into shutdown mode, while Jeremiah tries so hard to please his dad, but sees his dad Pay more attention to Conrad. That brings us to the fireworks scene. Jeremiah sees Belly and Conrad about to kiss and shoot the fireworks. He sees somebody else prefer Conrad over him.

Simply put. Conrad and Jeremiah would have a much better relationship than they do, if it wasn't for Adam. They would both be much better adjusted. They could both benefit from therapy

In defense of Joel Maisel

Yes, Joel starts out the series as a dirtbag who cheats on his wife, and leaves her for his secretary, and is not very good at his job.

But.

Everyone overlooks all of his good qualities, and how much he has grown over the seasons. He always supports Midge's career, and always belives that Suzie knows best when it comes to Midge's career. He always protects Midge, and while she'll say that she doesn't need protection, she has a tendency to get into trouble, and Joel is quick to protects. He always defended Midge, and is always there for her no matter what. He is the only man who is always there for Midge, and has her back. He is the only person who fits into every aspect of her life. Lenny Only fits into the part of her that is a comic, but not the other parts. Lenny is also an addict who won't get better, and dies in 1966, so him and Midge are essentially doomed. He also never Stays in her life for too long. And then there is Benjamin, who wasn't it for Midge. He was amused by her career, but didn't understand it. Joel however, does understand those aspects of Midge that the other men don't.

He becomes a successful business owner, was supportive of Mei being a doctor, and supportive of Midge's career as a comic. He is above everything else, a doting father.

He is a product of his time, but he puts his kids first. He is a more present father than most men would be in that time. The reason he's in prison in the flashforward is probably him protecting Midge, or taking the fall for.

He's not a perfect. He's very flawed, but so is Midge, yet we still root for her.

Joel is nothing like Christopher from Gilmore Girls.

I’m just saying if the writers really wanted that ending for Alex, they didn’t have to do it so fucking quickly. 

They could have had Alex find out about his kids with Izzie and him going out there to get to know them, while still trying to keep up a long distance thing with Jo. 

They could have shown over time the strain of Jolex’s relationship if they really wanted to end them. They could had gradually fallen out of love, gotten divorced - it could have been a mutual decision. And Alex could have fallen back in love with Izzie after spending so much time with her and their kids. Because like that does actually happen and I would have been more okay with it had it had more development and didn’t just happen over the course of one episode.

That man is her safe space

I know there are some who wants Jo to remain single, and be an example of a single mom, but I don't think she should end up alone just because Alex is gone, or because some fans wants an example of a female character being single and happy. There are also some who wants her with Jack Gibson, because they have simular upbringings and "would be able to understand eachother", but Jack and Jo would be disaster. Jo has moved on from her past, and is looking for stability for herself and her daughter, and Jack is not a stabile person. There are also some who thinks she should be with a girl (mostly just her be with Jules), because that's somehow better than her being with a guy.

But Honestly, Link is her perfect match. She wouldn't be able to feel safe enough around someone else to break down in front of them. She feels safe with him to break down after a traumatising and stressful day. It's important for her to feel safe with the person she is going to date, because she has felt the opposite of safe in previous relationships, and has never been able to feel Completely comfortable and safe enough to openly talk about the really hard stuff about her past, but she does with Link.

And Link loves her and accepts her for who she is, flaws included. He knows everything about her, and still loves her.

Grey's anatomy has officially been renewed for season 20. The fact that we'll see these 2 as a couple after two seasons worth of building up has me excited. I'm 💯 sure that they'll get together in the season 19 finale. And now that we're getting a season 20, we'll see them as a couple

Jolink as the three loves

These two have both loved and lost before, and now they're in love with eachother. They could be good together if given the chance. The timing is perfect. Jo has healed and moved on from Alex did to her, Link is over Amelia, and now they both want it. They have the chemistry, they have History with eachother, they trust eachother completely, and want the same things out of life

Like Jo, Link has had three loves in Grey's Anatomy universe. One that is only mentioned, and two that are seen on the show.

First up, is the one that is only mentioned, which is why there are no photos of her. The first is Bronwyn, who we don't know much about. All we really know is that, Link dated her.

Second one, is Amelia. Link loved her deeply, and while she did love him back, he loved her more. They ultimately wanted different things out of life

Third is Jo. While not a couple yet, Link is now in love with his best friend. They have unconditional love and support for one another. They have the potential to be the one for eachother.

Jo has had three loves on the show, one via flashbacks, and the other two on the show. She dated and liked Todd, but wasn't in love with him.

First was Chris. The guy she dated in high school. He was good to her, but she was afraid to love him

Second was Alex, her biggest love, and biggest Heartbreak. The love that she had for him was intense. She loved him with her whole heart, but he broke hers.

Third is Link, her best friend. While not a couple yet, these two have unconditional love and support for one another. He's her safe space.

Rinas love to villainise him, by claiming that it's his own fault, and that he's reverting back to EJ 1.0. but No one thinks about how he didn't ask to become the director. It was dropped into his lap, giving him No time to properly prepare for a musical that he'll only have two weeks to both direct and star in. Not to mention, It's not just a camp musical, but something that'll be televised for everyone to see, and if anything goes wrong, then he'll be blamed. But apparently, he's unresonable for snapping once at his girlfriend because he was stressed out
