What is video art?
The term 'Video Art' is hard one to explain. Mainly because, Art is viewed differently by other people. One way to describe it would be 'Using the concept of moving pictures, video art is a medium that can either accent other forms of art or stand by itself in installations at galleries.'
Essentially, it can be an artistic film such as Terrence Malick's 'The Tree of Life' or a short and unique film that is meant to either represent or show off some like Chris Cunningham's 'Flex'. Then again, art is how you see it. Some see stylistic video games are considered as art but what makes these films different than commercial films.
In short, they were made to either show something off or to represent a message, not necessarily to make money. here are examples of where that did happen, 'Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind' was successful in the box office despite being an artistic film. Specific video art is different though, generally being short works to show off style rather than to make money. The designs use video presentations that can be combined with audio if that artist so desires. Although the concept of video art generally takes a similar form as television presentations or experimental film making, it is considered a distinct art form more aligned with painting and photography.
Video Art really started in the 60's and 70's when camera equipment became significantly cheaper. Artists of the time utilized the now accessible technology to create pieces of art through the medium of film. Today, some critics have declared the medium dead however there are still pockets of 'Video art' that appear across the internet.
Splitscreen: A love story - Review
Splitscreen is a technique that isn't used very often but when used in the right way it can create a great effect. This entire short video is shot in splitscreen and from the perspective of two different people. It starts off with them waking up, pulling the curtains open and finding each other inside a large city.
To start off, everything is shot in the first person and admittedly, I felt some of the shots didn't work. Like when their looking out of the window, everything just doesn't flow well there. However, most of it is superb and well filmed. The quality of the cameras are interesting as well as one perspective seems to be darker and the other is brighter. That adds a nice touch and helps differentiate between the perspectives.
Overall the video is well edited and well put together. It's short and sweet. 7/10
Quick storyboard/plan for 'Food for the Mountain Kings'
In B-flat
The B-flat project is a do it yourself music video starter. It helps you to create the music by varying the videos used and the volume of each instrument. This creates the music but the video itself music be created by the person.
I started all the videos at once, and the ones I didn't think fit I removed. When I did it the second time I started the videos I wanted and toned the volume of some of the louder ones so it was all a calm melody. Everything was in sync with one another.

Ideas blog: The Infinite Crysis
The title is a homage to the DC comic storyline.
A simple man who is sitting around at home is given the chance to look at different versions of himself in different universes. Discovering how many different possibilities truly derive from infinite.
Mother Universe: Birth universe of the main character. Reality is the same as ours.
Icarus Universe: World in which the planet became uninhabitable to live on so humanity is forced to live on airships in the sky.
World War 3 Universe: In this reality, Albert Einstein never existed. Thus, nuclear weapons were never invented which means America and Russia have no fear of nuclear war which leads them to declare war on each other. Dragging the rest of the world into the conflict.
Honor Universe: In this reality, Japan made a scientific breakthrough during the industrial age leading them to have the most superior technology on the planet but keeping their belief of honor. Eventually, they use invade the planet, converting all the nations to their beliefs.
Mystical Universe: In this reality, magic is real but only exists in a third of the population. Anyone possessing it is outcasted due to a paronia started by the leading religion on the planet that anyone possessing magic is unnatural, thus evil. Eventually, those possessing magic form an army and take over the lagest continent on the planet. The continent becomes a haven for those with magical abilities.
Wrestling Universe: In this reality, professional wrestling became the most sport on the planet, despite the fact that it is staged. Also, Wrestlemania, the show that launched the world wrestling federation (later wwe) failed. This means the territory system is still in check. Thsi causes thousands of different wrestling shows to constantly compete with each on sports channels after most of them go world wide.
Island Universe: In this reality, pangea broke into smaller and more numerous pieces. Making resources more scarce and creating even more countries. This causes humanity to develop slower and causes more conflicts over limited resources.
