the whole "insulting someone based on their appearance is bad because it could indirectly hurt people you like who share that feature" is a good start for unlearning body shaming but i do think we need to go further and remind people that even if there was some physical trait that was magically 10000% exclusive to conservatives and creeps and nobody else ever had it, we still shouldnt be insulting them based on that. because the problem with them is not their appearance its their ideology and actions. by insulting their appearance you arent just indirectly insulting others who look like that, youre literally not making the correct point. stay on topic ya know.

I do think the concept of parasociality has been twisted into something used to shame anyone who feels any sort of connection or sympathy towards public figures, usually ytbers or micro celebrities, and whilst it Is helpful to remind the wider public of the wide separation and imbalance between them and whoever it is that they're watching, I think it's also misguided to expect audiences not to feel any sort of attachment to public figures. They're human beings, and especially micro celebs from yt or twitch are more likely to show a side of themselves that can feel less fabricated than 'proper' celebrities which in turn will trigger this sense of empathy in their audience. I think as long as you do understand that they're not your friend and that there Is a barrier between you and that you truly do not know who they are behind the scenes, like, you're not doing anything wrong by being attached to xyz streamer ykwim. Like that's such a natural thing to feel for a human being you're witnessing, esp on the regular.

Also, regardless of your feelings on human nature or anything, I think that a world where children can go to school without fearing being bombed from an ocean away is a world worth aspiring to and worth fighting for. Okay we might never abolish war because the inherent human nature or whatever mighty idealism you have. We could at least try to stop these wars, though?

My abortion was really one the most hated kind of abortion. I wasn't underage. I wasn't raped. I wasn't in medical need.

I got pregnant not through some fluke or 1 in a 100 contraceptive failure. I got pregnant because I was knowingly and willfully having unprotected sex. Out of wedlock too if that matters.

It was my own fault, I was being irresponsible because I knew I could always get an abortion if I got pregnant. My abortion was as close as it comes to 'using abortion as a contraceptive' as anti-choicers love to say.

I didn't abort it because my health was in danger or because I didn't have the ability to care for it or whatever else. I did it purely because I didn't want a child. I wanted sex and I didn't want to deal with any consequences from it.

There's no moral here. I don't feel bad about it whatsoever. I suffered no karmic consequences or punishment from god. My life is amazing. I want to rub this in the face of every conservative and anti-choicer. I did the terrible thing. I had an abortion for the most selfish of reasons and literally nothing happened. Suck it.

I don’t like how I’m kinda expected to rewrite the first 20 years of my life just because I’m trans. I was the eldest daughter in a black household. I can’t go back and edit my history to say I was the eldest son, cuz that doesn’t accurately convey the certain standards I was held to. I was the only girl in my engineering class. I can’t leave out the “girl” part. It recontextualizes the entire situation. I don’t think either of those facts invalidates my current gender and I don’t think trans people should be expected to rewrite their own history in fear of that

and when you hear things like “she left me for a MAN/WOMAN!!”, have people try to tell you you’re straight for dating your opposite gender, telling you you’re gay/ a lesbian for dating the same gender im just like ??? how hard can it be to understand bisexuality ???

if you’re dating a bi person and break up, ofc theres a possibility of them dating someone else. if it doesn’t happen after your relationship, it will happen after someone else’s until they get married or decide to stay with that person forever.

i don’t get how if you’re good with other queer identities, suddenly bisexuality seems like a problem.
