haha, lol, the same. I actually wanted to dedicate a lot of things to them, but after my birthday I feel so damn exhausted that I pass out as soon as my head rests on something.

this prompt with lance who never expects gifts because he has the ability to get everything he would ever want and need, so he is real surprised when george greets him on Valentine’s Day with a kiss and a wrapped gift placed into his hands.
Oh I loved this idea. Slightly deviated. But I do hope you like.
Elusive Lance POV
When his alarm went off, Lance just turned it off. No point in silencing it if he was just sleeping though the day. Testing so far had been shit. The car was way off pace, media was taking his comments out of context again, and management were arguing over who was to blame. He didn't want to go out, he just wanted to hide inside and avoid whatever the world wanted to throw his way.
The sharp knock at the door made him jump. He checked his phone, it was eight am. Too early to function. He pulled the covers over his head and tried to ignore it. The knock happened again, this time louder and somehow more annoying.
"Lance."
Lance groaned, he knew that voice. What was George Russell doing at his hotel room on a Saturday morning. Shouldn't he be laughing it up with the rest of the Merc teams. Everyone knew they were sandbagging, Russell was going to be the next champion. He knocked again.
Lance groaned and threw off the covers. As Russell knocked, he skulked to the door and threw it open. Russell stood there wide eyed, as though he didn't expect Lance to answer. What an ass.
"What?" Lance didn't even try to hide his annoyance.
"Sorry to bother you," Russell finally said. "I was hoping to.. look can I come in?"
Lance sighed. He wanted to say no and slam the door in that smug face. Instead he slid the chain off the door and let Russell in.
"Well, I, uh…"
"Spit it out, Russell."
"I wanted to give you this."
A small package in bright red wrapping was pressed to Lance's chest. Lance looked at the gift and then back up at George. Who's face was slowly turning the same shade of red as the package.
"What is this?" Lance had to ask.
"A gift," Russell said blinking before he pressed an awkward almost kiss to his cheek . "For Valentines."
It took a moment for the words to sink in. Lance had never really been a fan of the holiday. His partners always expected him to spend a ton but never gave him anything in return.
"You have so much money." They'd usually say. "You could buy anything you wanted. I didn't know what you needed."
Blah blah, excuses, excuses. So whatever this was in his hands was a bit of a surprise. So was Russell.
"Don't you have a girlfriend?" Lance asked examining the beautifully wrapped gift.
"No?" Russell tilted his head in confusion. "I've been single for almost a year."
Somewhere he may have read something about Russell breaking up with his girl. Lance tried to stay away from gossip blogs. None of them ever had nice things to say about anyone in his life. He looked at the gift again."
"You don't have to keep it," Russell said. He was biting his lip, Lance hadn't seen that before.
"Oh, I just…" Lance shuffled awkwardly. "I didn't expect to get anything for Valentine's this year."
"I know," Russell said, a small smile on his face. "That's why it was so important for me to do this."
Lance had always thought Russell was beautiful. Now those doe eyes and that soft smile were aimed at him he was a goner. He found the seam of the wrapping and slowly tore it open.
Inside the gift was a photo of the two of them, on podium as kids. Lance had never seen this one before Russell was looking at him and smiling. Usually he was scowling.
"What's this?"
"It's us," Russell said. "Despite what you may believe I do actually like you."
"You do?"
"I do," Russell continued, taking a tentative step forward. "Here I am, shooting my shot, and hopefully taking you out to dinner later?"
Lance's breath hitched. Russell wanted him? Was asking him? Lance could feel the smile break out across his face.
"Yeah," he said. "I mean uh, yes. I'd like that. Dinner."
The smile Russell gave him was almost blinding. Lance's stomach did a little flip. George liked him, wanted to date him. Maybe even wanted to kiss him.
Lance reached over and wrapped his fingers in the soft fabric of George's collar. He pulled him down into a small, soft kiss. And yeah, it was sort of perfect.

Lance was glad it wasn't him. He'd never been a fan of ceremony, or the farcical pomp and circumstance Mercedes were putting on for them. His dad wasn't wrong, wanting to end the bloodshed. Lance had witnessed the brutality of the Knights of Mercedes. He'd barely survived one of their blade's to his gut. That was when his father finally agreed to the marriage.
Chloe was doing her duty, marrying a stranger to end a war. And Lance, well…. Chloe liked to joke that he was just there for good food. She wasn't wrong, Lance had snuck off at the first opportunity to find himself in the kitchens. And it smelt good.
He hadn't expected to meet George, the most attractive person he had ever seen. Lance knew it was fate and had kissed him as soon as he could. He hadn't expected George to kiss back or ask to be found at the feast.
Now he was sitting at his desk, scrawling a note. An apology for his sister and his father. He knew he was going to disappear for the night, even for the foreseeable future. Cause Lance was certain that running away with George would be worth every harsh word he was going to receive. Especially if the flavours of the food he was cooking tastes just as good as they smelt.
Lance traced his lips with a finger, he could still feel the ghost of George's kiss. It was enough of a push for Lance to finish the letter, signing it with flourish and sealing it with wax. He left it on the bed, his family would eventually find it when they came looking for him. He and George would be long gone by then. His family would eventually understand once they met George, but for now, Lance had a seduction to prepare for.

A little mediaeval royalist AU. I had fun with this one.
In the distance there was music playing, George could hear the roar of the crowds. This was an auspicious day, carefully handpicked by the King's augers. Today the Kingdom's of Aston and Mercedes were to be united, the young princess to marry the handsome prince. The wedding was to be a triumph, a joining of two nations forever at war.
Though George himself had never fought in a war, many of the other serfs had. He had heard many stories of the Kingdom of Aston and its brutality. The wedding would not only end the fighting, but would herald in an era of peace.
While his fellow serfs had left, desperate to catch a glimpse of royalty at a time where they were allowed to actively stare and gossip, George had remained behind. He wanted to ensure each dish, sweet or savoury, was perfect. It was his reputation which would suffer, and potentially put his life at risk, if it wasn't.
As he was placing herbs over a freshly baked quiche, he noticed a strange man with dark hair watching over him. He was clearly not from Mercedes, his face not nearly as sharp as the locals. Still there was something about the man which drew George's gaze to him, he was handsome enough George supposed.
"You shouldn't be here," George said firmly as he approached the stranger. "This area is off limits to guests."
"S'cool," George was unfamiliar with the man's accent, he was definitely from Aston. "I've got permission."
"I highly doubt that," George scowled. "Toto doesn't let anyone just anyone into his kitchen."
"I'm Lance," he held out his hand to George, who eyed it carefully before shaking it. It was softer than he imagined, only lightly calloused. "And I'm not anyone. Who're you?"
"George," he politely replied. "Now can you please leave before either of us get in trouble."
"Only if you escort me, George," Lance rolled George's name through his mouth, it was odd. "I don't know where I am."
"So you decided to wander through a strange castle unescorted?" George scoffed as Lance shrugged. "Of course you did, come on." He took Lance by the hand and lead him out through the passage ways to the nearest exit. "You should be able to find your way from here."
"Sure," Lance's smile was wider than George expected. "But could I find my way back to you?"
"Excuse me?" George squeaked at the odd question, the way that Lance was looking at him made George's pulse race.
Lance picked up his hand and pressed a kiss to the back of it. "S'not often I meet someone as pretty as you."
George's stomach flipped. Lance's smile was curved upwards, he looked sincere enough, sweet even. George suddenly felt quite warm. "Erm—"
There was a hand on his chin, and suddenly Lance's lips were pressed against his own in a sweet kiss. It made George's head feel light, he couldn't help but wind his finger's through Lance's garmets and kiss back. When they finally parted George felt giddy, and Lance's own face was slightly flush, his pupils slightly dilated.
"Find me at the feast tonight?" George surprised himself as the words tumbled from his lips.
Lance chuckled before he stepped back with a nod. "I'll see you there."
Then he was out the door and George was left standing there, a goofy smile on his own face. He quickly returned to his rooms and rummaged through his wardrobe, searching for his formal outfit. He had a feast to attend and a man to get to know better, he honestly couldn't wait.
