Sam waved at the security guard at the front entrance, something he did every day and had done since he had started working at Wilde PR, normally he would have stopped and talked with Hank for a minute or two but he was running late. He blamed Sebastian for that, Sam was’t sure on how many texts in the last week he had gotten from him complaining about this new girl, Quinn. Sam shook his head, and last night was the first night in a week where he hadn’t sent a text, so Sam was sure they had worked it all out.
He walked into the department where hew was working, and had been working for the last year or so, he was about to push the door to his office open when he realized that his name wasn’t on the door, but someone else’s, a name Sam didn’t recognize. “What’s going on here?” Sam asked, turning around looking at his colleagues. “Oh, Mr. Evans was there something that Ms. Wilde needed?” Grace asked as she spotted him, “I thought that I made sure to send everything up to your desk.” Sam shook his head, “What?” he blinked, he hadn’t worked for Katy for the last year, “no, this is my office,” Sam said pointing at the door. “Don’t be silly, you’re Ms. Wilde’s PA, and if you don’t hurry you’ll be late and you don’t want to be late do you?”
Sam sighed, and grabbed his bag, maybe if he took the elevator up to Katy’s floor, she could make all of this clear to him. He walked over to the elevator, and stepped inside, the ride up to her office felt like it took forever. Sam shook his head, as he stepped out from it. He blinked a few times, why was Kitty sitting at that desk. This didn’t make any sense at all. “Oh, Sam good,” Katy said as she spotted him, “you’re late and I need to see you in my office.” Sam walked over to her, and he looked at Kitty, mouthing a what’s going on at her.
While Kitty waited for Sam to arrive, she made small talk with her sister. "So how's Connor?" she wondered, not having spoken to him herself lately. "Better?" Katy shrugged. "He's not thrilled that Clarisse's granddaughter will be taking over his job eventually, but I'm not worried for him. With his education and experience, I'm convinced he could get a job anywhere." Kitty nodded her head at her in agreement. "Absolutely," she responded. "I'm sure Daddy has tons of friends who would snatch him up in an instant, and you if you ever wanted to..." Katy interrupted her with a wave of her hand. "You know how busy my lifestyle blog keeps me," she told her, to which Kitty laughed in response. "Does anyone even read that thing?" she questioned, even though she knew Katy had gotten quite a following since she'd first launched the blog.
A “ding!” from the elevator quickly ended the conversation. "Show time," Kitty announced. Katy nodded her head at her in acknowledgement and then added, "You might want to take off your engagement ring." Kitty looked down at her hand. Crap. She'd almost messed up her own prank. She slid the ring off of her finger and slipped it into her pocket just as Sam came into view. Giving him a shrug, she took a moment to note how adorable he looked when he was confused. Katy looked between them before addressing him, “Sam, this is my sister Kitty. She’ll be working here as my...second assistant, hopefully not for long. Now if you could please step into my office.”
