Hey, do you know of any My Time discord servers besides the official Pathea one? I want to talk to fans about the games, the characters and lore more than the technical stuff

Mmm, not really anon. I'm aware of the Bootleg server, but I had a few messages telling me it's incredibly anti Arlo when I shared a link to it. So if you're ok with that, then I can find the link for you. But otherwise I can't think of any that are still active, or are purely My Time and not multiple farming games

There's the My Time wiki server? But that's more digging up details from the game than chatting I think

not much I learned yet, but i know that i like pen more than i probably should and that he admires himself naked in the mirror. also that he is going to teach me how to punch people into space and he asked me to leave the building profession and join the church with him. which made him reveal they'll make up a position for me because they change the scripture all the time anyway. so that is kind of juicy i guess, the church just doing whatever it wants. then he insulted me again. still love him though, he's stupid and pretty.

also, burgess is precious and i love him.

Sorry, Pen does what? I've not been able to play much since it hit EA, so I haven't seen him since the fight tutorial, but wow! (in a good way, because that's hilarious)

The long awaited Portia console update is now live! It brings all the consoles up to date with the PC version in terms of content, so new post game content and NPC interactions, plus more sounds and voice lines.

Go check it out if you haven’t already!

(and please don’t yell at Pathea about the lack of grass on the Switch. They know. They’re working on it. The Switch can only handle so much awesomeness at once)

What do people think about making something from the prompt “New Year” ?

I’d love to see some fics or art about how people in Portia celebrate the end of one year and the start of the next.

Are there big parties? Or is it a quieter, smaller sort of celebration held in individual homes? Are there any specific foods or drinks people have the last or first day of the year?

Who loves it? Who hates it? How much paperwork is involved for things like the workshop rankings that makes it miserable for Antoine and Presley?

Do the Civil Corps also have a inter city ranking system, based on who got commissioned the most, or killed the most monsters?

If anyone wants to make something, be it fics or art or a list of headcanons, then tag me and I’ll post links to everything next Monday, when I’ll hopefully be able to start posting weekly again.

And if not, then I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy, and you all have a fantastic New Year however you choose to celebrate it

Edit December 27th:

The kickstarter ended in November, make sure to wishlist My Time at Sandrock on Steam to help unlock extra things for the game. If enough people wishlist it before early access launches in March/April 2021, then we can potentially unlock the kids growing up to school age mechanic!

No prompts this week I’m afraid, but I do want to remind everyone that the My Time at Sandrock kickstarter is still was live and is really close right now to unlocking visitors from Portia (other than the ones who visit as part of the story during the game)!

If you haven’t already, go and check out the kickstarter page for some sneak peaks at screenshots and clips of gameplay, plus info on all the stuff they’re including in the game. There are multiples tiers you can back at if you want to for console keys, and then steam with either early access (March time) or Beta (possibly January!)

Pathea are listening to all feedback they get from everywhere they’re active, which is Facebook, twitter, reddit, their discord, and comments on the kickstarter page.

So if there was anything you wanted to improve about Portia, then go see if someone has already suggested it, and if they haven’t, then tell Pathea about it!

What was Portia like 10 years ago?

Who lived in town back then? We know that Sonia, Antoine, Emily, Oaks, Gust, Ginger, Arlo, Remington, Paulie, and Tody are all from Portia, so what were they like as children, teenagers, and young adults?

Did they play together, or was there too much of an age gap between them?

Was Gust around 10 years ago, or had he already left for university?

Had Arlo joined the Civil Corps yet? Was Remington in town, or had he left for Lucien? Or was he already injured and back at that point?

Was Sam around? She moved to Portia from Lucien at some point, but it’s not specified when.

Were there any other children in town back then, who have since moved away so we don’t know about them?

Who was their teacher? Isaac?

Was Paulie already “Manly” 10 years ago, or was he still growing out of the small boy who got bullied stage?

What was Tody up to? Was he already an environmentalist back then?

Were Carol and Mars married and in town at that point, or was Carol still living somewhere by the sea?

What was Martha up to, and was her husband still around?

How much healthier and lively was Sophie?

How big was the research centre? Was Merlin there, or was she still doing questionable research somewhere else?

Was Pa around, or was his time in Portia much further back then 10 years?

What sort of things was Gale trying to do as Mayor?

What did Portia look like? The old Amber Island bridge was there, sure, but was there anything over there to visit? Which ruins were open to the public? Was there an old way to access the Marsh?

. Edit: This was posted at the very start of the Kickstarter, before we started getting history in the updates. We now have a solid timeline for Calamity-Darkness-Bright Sun, and know he didn't fly a plane but used some sort of tech to "shoot" the clouds.

I’m thinking about Peach this week.

Who was he, really?

He was a real live person, obviously, but in the last however many years (in game sources give conflicting numbers for how long the age of darkness lasted, so it’s hard to say when Peach actually saved the day, but that’s a whole other post) how much of what is known about him has been altered to suit a narrative?

How did he know what was wrong and how to fix it? Did he work it out himself because he was super smart, or did he have a group of friends or scientists supporting him, and he was just the person who drew the short straw and had to fly the plane?

Or did he just happen to stumble into an abandoned room full of someone else’s research from before the Day of Calamity, and simply put that plan into action?

Was the plane he flew his, or did he have to steal or “borrow” it from somewhere?

Did he have permission and support from the people he lived with to enact his plan, or did he have to fight or sneak out in order to do what he needed to?

Little bit dark, but did he survive long enough after flying through the clouds blocking the sunlight to see the change he started, or did he suffer consequences from the pollution?

Are the statues of him accurate, or have they been kind to his memory? Would he recognise himself if he looked at them?

Where did he live? He’s known world over it seems, but where did he call home?

Did he have any children? Does he have any living family somewhere in the world?

Where does Higgins raise animals?

Sometimes when I go to Southblock to sell stuff at Yeye's, Higgins has already got some of the items. And sometimes those items are chickens and sheep. And once he was selling apricots.

And I'm wondering where he grows/raises them?

Is this why we can't go in his workshop most of the game? Because it's full of baby chicks and lambs?

It's also getting a Kickstarter to fund some of the extras the community wanted. So if you aren't already on there, go check out the Pathea discord (there's a chance to win a Ginger figurine) and have a look at the new content that's being released!

What sort of cleaning products do people use?

Odd question, I know. But the Portian universe seems to be all about being sustainable and not repeating the mistakes of the past, so I’m wondering what sorts of things they use, and how they deal with run off ending up in the water supplies?

We know they have soap, because you can make it out of animal fat and cinnamon, which is pretty eco friendly, I think? But do people make it with other scents? Does someone walk around smelling like strawberries, or apples? Do they have different ones for hand wash and body wash?

What sort of shampoo and conditioner do they use? Or does everyone in town take care of their hair “naturally” by brushing it lots to get the natural oils spread through it?

Do they have different flavours of toothpaste? Do they even have toothpaste, or do they just brush with water, since it’s the physical act that gets teeth clean, and not the paste.

How does the hair colouring work? What sort of chemicals and aftercare do they use? Or do they rely on hair waxes and chalks for easier changing? Or, given how your baby will have whatever hair colour you happen to have when you give birth, is it actually more some sort of genetic manipulation?

How about washing clothes? You can find washing machines in the ruins, but those are relics. Are things washed by hand in Portia? Boiled in giant tubs and then hit with sticks? Bicycle powered small tubs?

Do they have washing up liquid, or have they gone back to old, old methods of scrubbing with sand then leaving things out in the sunlight to sterilise?

And is it different at the Round Table? Does Django have one of those industrial cleaners, or does he employ some unknown NPC as a pot washer?

What do they use for dusting and polishing and window cleaning?

What are the moisturisers and face masks and lotions that Emily, Sonia, and Phyllis make made out of?

And how do they keep all these chemicals, if they aren’t natural and biodegradable I mean, from ending up in the rivers and pond and ocean? Do they have a special treatment space which uses natural filtration techniques, such as the rocks-pebbles-dirt-sand model? Can only certain people use those things, to cut down on waste?

Or does all of Portia’s waste water still end up in the Sewage Plant in the Collapsed Wasteland?
