"Stop! Turn around! There’s my Kaiser!"
That’s what I shouted when I spotted this 1948 Frazer off a snowy Montana highway. This car, a near twin to the 1947 Kaiser my father drove, brought my past to life in an unexpected moment. What's happening in 3 weeks? Here's a hint: it's creepy and it's spooky. So here's what I did for my Etsy mug shop. I took a photo of a Cadillac hearse with its rear door open, an open coffin sliding out, and a skeleton inside the coffin at a regional car show. Isolated the subject, added the words "Happy Hallowe'en 2024" put it all on a 15 oz ceramic mug, and then asked ChatGPT to write the Etsy description in the voice of Gomez Addams. What can I say, it's creepy and it's spooky.

I just added this photo of Snyder Creek in Montana's Glacier National Park to my Etsy wall art photography shop. Snyder Creek flows down from Snyder Lake to empty into Lake McDonald just south of the Lake McDonald Lodge. Both the lake and the creek are named for George Snyder who, in 1895, built a hotel on the shore of Lake McDonald which he called the Glacier Hotel. He also built the road from the railroad station at Belton (now West Glacier) to Apgar where he ran a 40 foot steam ship to carry guests from Apgar 5.5 miles across the lake to his hotel.
Storm Clouds over Blodgett Canyon
One of the photos I took when researching my Distinctly Montana Magazine article on the Landscapes of Norman Maclean. Blodgett Canyon, northwest of Hamilton, Montana, figures in Maclean's story "USFS 1919." one of the stories included in A River Runs Through It and Other Stories. I'm particulary fond of this photo, especially as I thought I was having a heart attack while trying to get "the right shot." This would be a stunning addition to your home or office decor--and it's available at my Etsy shop.

While chatting with another Montana photographer, I saw a photo she had taken at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse south of San Francisco. It reminded me of the Point Arena Lighthouse I photographed in 2007 north of San Francisco, so here 'tis:
