Brief background of US High School Graduation Requirements Typical high school graduation in United States requires each student to have earned a total of 135 credits, which equates to 27 courses over the course of 4 years (9th — 12th). Students are required to take ~7 courses per year. Some of the key courses required are Mathematics (3 years), Science (3 years), Language Arts / English (4 years), US History (2 years), World History, World Language, etc. There are also several electives that a student is expected to complete the full 135 credit requirements. Assuming that the students complete their 12th grade from CBSE board in India (with 60+% or C+ or higher), they would need to take 7 or more additional courses through MOIS to meet the curriculum requirements of MOHS, NJ.
