I am from Gaza, a father of seven, writing to you with a heart burdened by what is not easily said… I have lost my home, and I have lost my only source of income, and life has become for me a daily struggle for survival. Here, we do not speak of life as something ordinary, but as something we try to preserve day by day amid harsh and unforgiving conditions.
As a father, all I think about is how to provide my children with the minimum safety, food, and dignity in this difficult reality. We no longer have a shelter to return to, nor work to rely on, but we still hold on to a faint hope that a helping hand may reach us and ease this heavy burden.
We are not asking for luxury, but for a chance to continue living with dignity, and to ease the weight of these harsh conditions on our children. Every helping hand extended to us today may become a reason for a life saved, a pain eased, and a small hope reborn in a home exhausted by hardship.
