Hey guys, I really hate to make a post like this - I’ve been taking commissions & doing any odd jobs I can find to raise money, but I desperately need to get out of my parents’ house as soon as possible, and I’m finally at a point where I’m not too embarrassed to just ask for donations.
I’m Finley, and I’m an autistic gay trans man living with abusive parents - my dad in particular has a very short fuse, and I’m constantly on edge because he’s prone to having terrifying, explosive fits of anger when he sees me doing something too visibly autistic for his liking (stimming, having a shutdown, rocking, etc.). He hasn’t hit me in quite a while, and I thought he’d gotten calmer in recent years, but I’m extremely worried that he’ll escalate to hitting me during these fits - it feels like it’s just a matter of time. My mother also gaslights me constantly, demeans my appearance, makes me feel like I’m a burden for being physically ill, and has used said physical illness as leverage to keep me here longer.
On top of all that, I have to go to a church regularly that’s extremely homophobic/transphobic & preaches that people like me shouldn’t be allowed to use public restrooms or hold jobs, and certain people within that church have even said that they wish death on LGBT people and support conversion therapy - which is a very real threat in my life, and something I’d very much prefer to avoid. I’m also a Hellenic Pagan, and I am genuinely terrified of what would happen if my parents or anyone else in the church found out that I actively practice a non-Christian religion.
My intention is to move in with my fiancé and go to college out-of-state, and I’ll need to have independent funds for a safe binder, clothes that I can pass in, rent, bills, and just the entire process of moving, as well as school materials (laptop, etc.). Anything that’s important to me has to be bought solely by me, without any help from my parents, or they’ll take it upon themselves to investigate everything I’m doing and find out who I’m talking to, what I’m buying and why, etc. While I’ll try my very best to raise money on my own, it’s hard to do that as quickly as I really need to, due to my chronic physical pain and my autism.
