Cuphead immediately began to search high and low for his precious babies. He searched every single nook and cranny until the room had been searched. “Not here…”

The younger lifted his thumb, trying his best to keep a smile... just to lose it immediatly.  That was so gross. Even as Cuphead looked for the little pets, Mugman seemed to go way slower, checking only places from where he knew he could sprint away if necessary.

“Hmmh... I-I just hope they didn’t run outside--”

“Listen Mugman, I appreciate you trying to help but it isn’t your job to help customers with Black Jack. We still run a business and while people come here to win money, we still need to make profit to keep this place up and going.”

He shifted a bit.

“I don’t see any reason that I need to tell the boss, but just try not to do it again, okay?”

His tone was very calm.

...well he seems- He seemed ok with it. Surprisingly calm despite him going around and ruining business and everything.

The kid breathed out, a little annoyed as he noticed how much his breathe ended up trembling despite the fact that Dice was... kind of trying to reassure him nothing bad was goning to happen.

“I... I-I’ll do my best.”  Being stuck there and not even helping someone who was so bad at cards... that was going to be hard! “I’m sorry...”

Very brilliant because that certainly didn’t get the witch’s attention. Despite her looking straight at him. With a huff the witch looked over her shoulder then carefully went over to Mugman, leaning closer and clearing her throat.

“Doesn’t that stink?” She asked, but didn’t remove the towel.

Welp. That didn’t work. Mugman stiffened a little, sure he could feel his cheeks getting a little warmer. That was so embarassing...!

It was just a child. She couldn’t possibly shout at him, especially if he was unlucky enough to be mopping the casino floors.

The kid let out a tiny whimper, his entire body stiffening after that single word said in a slightly louder tone, just to relax a little soon afterwards. Or at least, trying to relax. Poor kid is a nervous wreck.

“No, really, I just... I-I should be careful.” he muttered, hands clinging to the mop “I-I hope I didn’t hurt you!”

Gosh... talking about spiders as little pets. Why his brother must be like that?! They’re not cute and nice, they’re icky and full of at least 2 legs and 40 eyes too many!! The idea of them lurking around the house was so terrifying...!

And help looking for those guys? Absolutely not! They’re so scary!!!

Mugman couldn’t even look up, too afraid King Dice could’ve done anything to him. His job should’ve been cleaning tables, not silently making math and suggest costumers if they were supposed to keep asking for cards or not during a Black Jack session.
