"Your app requires additional review time"
This post is going to be in English, to provide some value for people who ended up here because of googling the title.
Version 1.1 (note: update, version 1.0 was approved) of our app "muhmuh" was rejected after Apple sent the dreaded "Your app requires additional review time"-mail. Turns out we got rejected due to copyright/infringement claims over one of our features: We had a "topic" called "WM Stammtisch". The abbreviation "WM" stands for "Weltmeisterschaft", which translates to "world championship". Yes, "world championship". While in this context it refers to the stuff that's going on in Brazil (and therefore can/does mean "world cup"), it's a very generic and loose term used for all kinds of championships, whether it is basketball, hockey or even stuff like bbq'ing or making the world's best pizza. So in order for our app to be approved, we would have had to send over a "contract with the trademark/copyright holder and/or a letter from the trademark/copyright holder, to you/your company, detailing your authorization". which a) of course - we do not have and b) is beyond ridiculous for using a generic term.
Lesson learned (also serves as a tl;dr): Don't use anything even remotely related to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazilâ„¢ in your app for the time being, otherwise you will be rejected.
Meanwhile, the popular "Yo" app sends out "WORLDCUP" Yo's whenever there's a goal and no one seems to care. I'm not butthurt, this is just a classic case of "double standards much??" ... and there's nothing I hate more than double standards.
