I think we should start using “falling in love” for platonic/alterous relationships too. The term falling in love is literally (in my mind at least) equivalent to learning to care for someone, and I don’t think the saying should be exclusive to romance. (And at least in my experiences, it’s been used for romantic attraction)

You can fall in love with someone as a friend. You can fall in love with someone as a family member. You can fall in love with anyone without it being romantic. Just let me describe my relationships and how I feel about them how I want to describe them, without people pointing fingers at me saying I’m romantically attracted.

I’d love to suggest the Chinese Red Headed Centipede… It’s my favorite species, and is so stunning!

The Chinese Red-headed Centipede (Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans)

Found primarily in South and South East Asia and growing up to 20 cm (around 8 inches), this formidable predator uses modified front legs called forcipules to envenomate it's pray.

This species is not to be played with, the venom of this centipede contains neurotoxin. Not only is the bite itself very painful, but it causes swelling, numbness, and even rapid heart rate and difficulty breathing in some cases.

Research is currently being conducted to see if it's venom is medically significant.

Did you know that the Malaysian Jewel Centipede (Scolopendra subspinipes) is a large centipede (up to 20cm long) common in southeast Asia that go by a number of other common names, such as black flame centipede, jungle centipede, or the Vietnamese centipede. Much of their range has likely been spread by humans. They're most common in southeast Asia and around the Indian Ocean, but have been established in tropical locations worldwide.

Like other centipedes, they're effective and voracious hunters. They will eat anything they can catch and overpower. All centipedes are venemous to an extent, but this is one of the only ones with a verifiable human kill. Centipedes in general are skittish, nervous, and don't see very well so care must be taken to avoid a nasty bite.
