Luigi is at a socially neutral gathering, tasked with keeping villainous mischief in check, when

THOOOOM.

A large shadow looms over him. A massive arm slams into the wall he’d been leaning against, the impact reverberating through the stone, the floor, and Luigi’s body.

“Well, well, well. No formal attire for the occasion, green bean?”

King Boo’s tone drips with mockery. The strange blooms across his chest smell sweet, with a hint of spice, as he leans in close—close enough to invite admiration, distracting Luigi while cutting away the rest of his personal space.

“Smell that? That’s unfortunate. These pretty little things’ pollen tends to linger in the lungs.”

Luigi immediately backs away. King Boo chuckles.

“Oh, don’t take it as a threat, Luigi. Simply…” His tone darkens. “An invitation.”

An invitation to what? A dance? Joining him in the grave? Did King Boo stuff his chest full of poisonous flowers just to woo Luigi into dying, so he could serve him in the afterlife?

My Life Is A Joke

A/N: I had this idea come to me when I thought of the final quote of this segment. This is one of the few of my Orange OCs that don't have as much "angst" to their character but I thought this would be a good way to healthy develop more of Barnaby's characterization. With that said, enjoy 🧡

Sidenote: Barnaby's main "job" is Jesting, getting the others to be able to laugh at themselves and the world around them. While his "job" as "Fate" is being able to see their greatest potential and focus on that area specifically.
