Authors note: This idea just popped in my head and i thought it was so cute. I love relationships that are romantic yet have a best friend-type of beat.
Warnings: none, just you and kyle being goofballs
“Hm-“ You hummed, your body face down in Kyle’s bed. Your head arose from the crooked pillows with the white pillow cover over them. You brush the kinky hair out of your face and slowly open your eyes and they close once they’re brought with the bright sunlight coming through his window. You look around, lifting your stomach off of the mattress.
You look to the sleeping boy next to you, who was also face down on his stomach. His hat was off and his curly red hair was bending in ways of its own. You scan the red lights of the digital clock on Kyle’s bed and see that it’s noon already. Your eyes widen and you lift yourself, sitting on your knees and you place your hand over Kyles shoulder.
“Kyle. Wake up.” You whispered slightly, but spoke loud enough to not wake him up startlingly. Nothing happened.
“Kyle, get up.” You shook him by his shoulder and he furrowed his eyebrows, face contorting in annoyance. He groans and squeezes his eyes together, the unpleasant feeling of being waken up suddenly. He rubs one of his eyes with the knuckle of his finger before mumbling.
“What? No.” He lifted his head and blinked a couple times, sitting up and turning over to face you. His eyes were squinted, blinded from the deathly light radiating through the small slots of his blinds.
Your eyes widen and you purse your lips, staring at his afro that was pressed flat on one side from the pillow. You try not to laugh and you inhale slowly.
“If you said no then why did you still get up?” You teased a bit. He smiled as he noticed your crazy, puffy hair as well.
“Oh, shut it.” He said, rolling his eyes a little and smirking.
“Okay then. Kyle, it’s literally 1 pm right now.” Your voice had a jokingly serious tone and he whipped around to his alarm clock.
“Oh my god. My mom is probably mad at me, jeez. I never sleep this late..” He sighs and you snicker.
“You know,” you started, pointing your finger at his hair “You look like you just wore a helmet in minecraft for too long.” You snort, biting your lip to hold back the burst of laughter that was about to erupt.
“And you look like you just got out of a tornado, so I guess we’re even then, huh?” Kyles shoulders rise in laughter and you lean your head back, cackling in amusement from his witty comeback. You poke his finger at his knee, about to speak before your gaze shifts to the door while kyles head turns, seeing Ike walk in.
“Hi y/n. Mom said she made lunch” Ike smiled when he saw you and Kyle nodded.
“Okay, we’ll be down in a second.” Kyle spoke back and Ike walked away, the door cracked open a bit.
“Let’s go, square head.” You crawl off the bed, stumbling a bit when Kyle pushed you lightly as he stood up himself.
“Don’t even start, cuddle buddy. You know, you were all over me last night, I had to pry you off with a spatula.” Kyle retorted and he grabbed his hat off of the floor before you took it from his hands, stretching your arm far out behind you so he couldn’t reach it.
“It’s not my fault my boyfriend is a good pillow.” You raise your chin, humbling him and he was left with a slightly gaped mouth. You quickly put the hat on his head, covering what mess of a hair he had. You combed your fingers through your own hair, maintaining any flyaways you had.
Kyle smiled and came in close, putting his hands on your hips while you wrapped your arms around his neck. You leaned in and kissed him quickly and gently, pulling away with a wide smile.
As you try to walk away to go downstairs, he quickly kisses your cheek and you yelp in surprise, intertwining your fingers with his slender ones as you walk down the stairs, ready to eat Sheila’s perfectly made food.
